I thought he was gonna leave? I've been at a festival all weekend so didn't see any of the matches.

Well Man U said they would loan him if he added a year to his contract, but I don’t think there’s any top team that really wants to fuck up their team dynamics/financials for a 1 year rental. Also, doubt Man U would loan him to Chelsea who might do those thibgs

Crazy to play pretty much the same team and expect a different outcome.

Can't believe that Fred, McTominay and Dalot are getting a start match after match

Would have expected a much more dynamic off-season too.   Surprised how few they brought in.  Would have expected something along the likes of what Barca did

Also, dealing with the whole CR situation must be a giant PITA.
[close]

Yeah CR should just suck it up until the winter transfer window.   He’s got 1 year left on his contract and it’s not like he’ll be cup tied for CL
Nobody wants him.

Nobody.

Only options are to run down his contract, or MLS

e: atleast no top club in europe.
Maybe some lower tier italian club could accomodate him in hopes of success, but money and Cristianos own ego stand in the way

I thought it’d be interesting for him to go to Bundesliga just for the contrast of him going to every major league while Messi stays relatively put (not his choice to leave Barca)

Would be, but where?
Bayern have told they don’t want him, doubt BVB is an option.

Yeah there isn’t a place for him really.   I had the thought before BM definitively said they didn’t want him

I’d like to see him return to sporting. It’s always been on the cards supposedly but he’d have to take a massive pay cut given there’s not a huge amount of money the league there

That is likely, but I think still too soon for that.
ManU likely wants a fee if Cristiano goes now, and his wages are too high.
I’m so glad he didn’t end up coming to City.
Maybe PSG could snag him if they get rid of Neymar and/or Messi?

Just send him to Celtic, champions League, guaranteed trophies. Lawwell will make his money back of shirt sales

I am excited for supercup Finale Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Madrid. I know it is kind of meaningless, but it is a very rare opportunity to see my club in competition against Real.

I hope Frankfurt doesn‘t get beaten too badly lol.

The thought of Lawwell back as chairman has me petrified. What Postecoglou has done is incredible, I wouldn’t take CR7 on a free to jeopardize what Ange is building

He wouldn’t win there either.
The lad is a overrated player in a team system. He’s a great individual, the team worked FOR HIM at Madrid and he could flourish there. Since, Juventus and United as a squad are not willing to work that extra bit so Ronaldo can take all the glory.
Sure he scores goals however the last 5 years or so he’s  only in the box putting so much pressure on the others.

Random footy thought of the day: With the upcoming WC his last go at it - where will Cavani end up to stay in game shape as a free agent? MLS like Bale or maybe a South American squad to be closer to home?

I remember match commentators saying at one point that he was looking to return to a South American club.

I also vaguely remember that after the South American cup thing last year that he stayed back there for ages after it finished. Was surprised he returned to Man Utd at all even if it was just for a final match

I’m surprised Suarez couldn’t find any takers in Europe.   Maybe he just wanted to be home.   I think Tevez did a stint in Arg before going back to UK but he was probably younger than the two Uruguayans are

Yeah, I was surprised as well, but you may be right. He may have wanted to go home. He certainly was still getting on well enough to stay in Europe, I thought.
I’d skin my knee and palms so bad on my buddy’s jump ramp with that thing.

Arsenal against Leicester was a great match for a neutral to watch. Hopefully the Brentford/Manu match is decent. Way to hot here to skate so beer and football is today's plan.

It’s just sad now for manU.    As a Liverpool supporter I ALMOST don’t get any joy out this after so long

When will Man U run out of funds to try and create a winning team? They can't keep fucking up forever.

I could read it on a desktop.
Not much in it that can’t be googled.
Basically ManU is still a money making machine, but sponsor deals are rapidly declining and there’s no end product for recent investments.
Just illustrates the fact the club is poorly run with no clear strategy to turn things around.
