On a lighter note though.  I get to go to this: http://www.realmadrid.com/cs/Satellite/en/1330004095327/noticia/Noticia/Real_and_Milan_team_up_for_good_cause.htm

Fifth row back from the sideline.  10 fucking euro!

Probably true, but I still hold out hope that Wigan can get another result against Chelsea.

Well deserved victory for Spurs.

Let's just hope that Chelsea doesn't blow it against Wigan, a lot could go wrong. I'm confident though.

Nice one for Spurs. Now they just need to avoid the Everton CL approach from a few seasons ago...

Let's discuss the World Cup since it's pretty close. You can roll your eyes all you want at all the casual "every four year" fans, but you just can't beat the nationalism that comes with the World Cup. And the national teams are usually super stacked with the country's most badass players.

Why isn't Barca's Valdes included in the Spanish national team? I think he's more capable than Casillas. Of course, I am a little bias here...

Iker will be the default keeper for Spain for ever. Has been since he was 18 or so, and will be till he's well into his 30's early 40's.

My England squad:

Goalkeepers
1. David James
2. Joe Hart
3. Paul Robinson

Defenders
4. John Terry
5. Rio Ferdinand
6. Ledley King
7. M Dawson
8. Wes Brown
9. Glen Johnson
10. Ashley Cole
11. L Baines

Midfielders
12. S Gerrard
13. F Lampard
14. Joe Cole
15. Aaron Lennon
16. Theo Walcott
17. G Barry
18. A Johnson
19. J Milner

Forwards
20. Wayne Rooney
21. Darren Bent
22. P Crouch
23. Carlton Cole

I fear that Heskey and Defoe will be going though.

Good mix, yout' n old boys. I would have loved to have had a fit Michael Owen, but he's finished now. Rooney aside,I don't think our forwards are good enough.

^^^Fit or not, Owen never would have made the squad.  Lampard and Gerrard can't play together, which sucks for England.

Owen fit, is a far superior footballer, clinical finisher and general threat than either Bent or Defoe. Unarguable fact. Lampard and Gerrard never seem to click together for England, but they are 2 of the best central mid fielders in the world so will both go. So whether that means a fairly constant re jigging of the midfield during the tournament, the 2 of them sitting deep with wingers, one of them deep and Walcot behind the front 2 or Cappelo playing them both together and hoping they click, remains to be seen. Personally, I would have taken Cattermole to kick lumps out of people in his own unique fashion.

Just watched the highlights to the FA Cup final. I wouldn't mind some new faces on Chelsea next season. I wonder who they're gonna buy over the summer? There's talk of Torres, he'd look good in blue...

Who just leaves Barcelona?

"Red Bulls Close to Bringing in Soccer Super-Star Henry
Following David Beckham's lead, Thierry Henry is leaving an elite European soccer league to join the MLS. Henry, who plays nationally for France and professionally for Barcelona, has reportedly agreed to a "pre-contract" with the New York Red Bulls. The "pre-contract" would become official when Henry is no longer under contract with Barcelona. Barca team president Joan Laporta said Henry would be allowed to leave at the end of the Spanish season if he wanted. The Red Bulls are already leading the Eastern Conference and bringing in an elite striker like Henry could make them one of the favorites to win the MLS championship this season." -espn

i guess its not 100%, but it sounds about 99... as for leaving barca, he will probably have minimal playing time, and almost never start... he leaves for the US and hes the best in the league...

its an hour drive to redbulls stadium for me, once again... syked.

Sorry for the double post but I thought this was great/incredible...

"Fenerbahce had entered the final day with a one point lead over Bursaspor and a win at home would have guaranteed them the title. A draw against Trabzonspor would also have been enough provided Bursaspor were held or beaten by Besiktas.

Amid scenes of confusion, Fenerbahce fans started celebrating at the end of the match after erroneous reports filtered into the stadium that Besiktas had equalised in Bursa.

But once news of Bursa's 2-1 triumph emerged, Fenerbahce fans' anger boiled over and they clashed with police."

I also read somewhere else that it was the stadium anouncer who got it wrong...

Still in celebratory mode
