I hope Torres leaves too though (to Chelsea!). I imagine it's going to take Liverpool some time to get their shit together, and I can't imagine them finishing with anything better than mid-table next season.

Good lord!!

What was that match brycickle, some testimonial or something? Worth the money just to see the master that is Maldini!

EDIT!!

Just spotted Franco Baresi & Alessandro Costacurta, Was Mauro Tassotti playing as well??
It was the Corazon Classic.  10€ to sit in the fifth row.  All of the money went to research why athletes hearts might stop suddenly.  Each side had about twenty players so I'm not sure of the full line up.  Everyone got playing time though.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

does anyone know where I can get some cheap fifa jerseys? I don't care if they're fake. I'm trying to get the Poland 2010 away jersey but can't find it anywhere for under $60. Not on Ebay either.
I used to post

Poland's going to be tricky. There are a load of sites that operate out of Asia that do convincing fake shirts but none of the ones I know of would have a team like Poland.

mid table no way
liverpool won't be back to their best but they would have to fuck up pretty hard to get mid table
the lowest i can see them going down to is 8
and i doubt torres will move to chelsea, though i could see him moving.

i'm more concerned about the fabregas arsenal situation

Non european placing is basically mid-table for a club that big.

Alright, maybe mid-table is a little harsh, but 7th place is cutting it pretty close. I wonder who's going to fill in that vacant manager's seat?

100% truth in the Rafa bit, I can't see Gerrard going to Madrid unless Jose's happy settling for second best if Lampard doesn't go.

I haven't heard anything about Lampard being a possibility. All the talk lately is that Mourinho wants Gerrard or De Rossi. Nothing is set in stone, and I imagine it won't become known until after the WC.

I found this to be quite interesting since Americans are typically portrayed as not being a "football nation."

Quote
...And contrary to popular belief, Swift adds, the study also reveals that soccer is actually a big sport in America. The U.S. makes a lot of money for FIFA, paying one of the largest television rights fees to FIFA of any country. Almost 25 million Americans play some kind of soccer, second only to China. And the average attendance at Major League Soccer games in the U.S. is higher than game attendance for the NBA and the NHL.

Didn't want to clutter up the World Cup thread with club transfer gossip.

Anyways, I like that the World Cup is where a lot of dudes get noticed by clubs.

Now, I know as much as the next guy how the internet is riddled with bullshit (and I take everything I read, especially sports related things with a grain of salt). Supposedly, Wenger is interested in Keisuke Honda. Would be sick to see him on Arsenal (or Spurs  :)).

It's that time of year where a shitload of money is being thrown around. Let's discuss.

A salary cap would most definitely level the playing field and allow for more diversity. I would love to see that happen one day.

After seeing what Chicharito can do for Mexico, I'm thinking he was a damn good signing for United.

I also heard from my buddy who's a fan of the hated Liverpool that Benayoun has made a move to Chelsea.

just because its popular in america, doesn't mean they'll actually be good at it.

as for the summer transfer market, shame yaya toure had to leave, but its seeming more and more probable that cesc is on his way to bcn, as much as i'm against it. same goes with steven gerrard and real madrid. those guys are the faces of the prem imo, it'd be a shame to see them elsewhere.

heard that honda rumour as well this past wkend, also one about ozil to the emirates.

Heard this on the news today. In to replace Joe Cole. Tbh I prefer Joe, but whatever.

I'm waiting to see where Cole ends up. Looks like it will be Arsenal or Tottenham. Hopefully Arsenal

And the new Liverpool manager is Roy Hodgson, which is a very good move for them.

Hopefully Roy does a good job on damage control. If he can keep Gerrard and Torres, which looks more and more likely, finish the signing of Jovanovic and bring in someone decent with the money from Benny and Masch, the team won't be in too bad of shape.

City finished the deal with Yaya Toure for 28M pounds too, hopefully that jacks the price up on someone like Mascherano.

Word is that Barca is throwing an £18m bid for Oezil. Dude will be allowed to stay with Werder Bremen for one more season.

La liga only consists of two clubs.
