These tournaments are always kinda meh with the exception of a few games, especially in the group stage. The real drama comes later on most of the time, but it's only really riveting when you have a horse in the race anyway. You can tell within a few minutes of watching them that none of these teams are close to the level of the best club sides.

Still, there's much less to complain about than there was in the last two international tournaments. We're only two days in; there hasn't been any nil-nils yet and there was a 4-1 yesterday!

very true, and denmark beat the netherlands, last world cup and euros before were pretty boring/awful, these are getting off to a good start.

the irish team is the opposite idea compared to ronaldo. man vs. she-man.
this is like a man should look like when he's on the field.

i've made terrible picks in fantasy football and basically already lost.
i also picked holland to win the whole thing and van persie to score the most goals. seems unlikely, doesn't it?

The difference between van persie in holland and arsenal is that he's basicly arsenal and the team is working their asses of for him.
In holland there's another fenomal striker, maybe a better goalgetter than van persie, but van persie is definitely a better footballer.
But the coach decided that there's only place for one striker.

The pressure on van persie is huge, the guy is only human and he can't seem to deal with it. put van persie behind huntelaar and sneijder a bit back. No more pressure on van persie and it will be amazing.

it's wolfsburg. I don't even think that he made a great season, always had some better /well known forward player in his team. but I gotta admit, he did a good job in this game.

I only watched the highlights of the Argentina - Brazil game but that third Messi goal was some shit I would pull in FIFA. R1 button finesse shot haha

Really looking forward to the fixtures today though. Wonder if Koscielny's going to start, probably one of my favorite players this season for Arsenal

As an English person I would like England to win.

But for the sake of my fantasy team I would  like Benzema to score two or three goals.

England games are usually pretty shit, so we can't pretend to be surprised, but still... The England team should double as their track n field team for the olympics cause that's pretty much all they are. Oh and a set piece goal too! ugghhh they remind me of Chelsea only they won't win shit.

Decent result for England, wasn't as boring as you're all suggesting. Not every team can play liquid football like Spain and Barca, you've got to play to your strengths and that's what England did, as did Chelsea in the final. Plus the ref was atrocious, awful. As an Englishman i'm happy with that result. It was just as exciting as that Spain Italy game a couple of days ago.

Hey you little cunty bastard, do you have to slag off Chelsea in every one of your posts? ? We get it.

Well it was a legitimate reference. More like you're upset that your favorite teams play the most bland and unappealing negative soccer that's been witnessed in a generation. And now I'm also getting a bit of joy knowing you get so upset by it. The truth hurts sometimes. However, much like with Chelsea's run in CL, you should look at the positive side like mr pman over here and just be glad you even got a point out of it.
