I don't have TV so I'm not getting to watch any of the games. Bummer.

Also, is anyone actually there? How is the hooliganism? Someone posted a pretty gnarly Documentary on SLAP a little while ago.

I finally caught up with yesterday's games and watched today's matches too.

Poland looked so toothless.

Hugely disappointed in Poland, I was pulling for them just to see a host team do well. Such a good first half and then they just fell apart.

Russia fucked up huge too. Czechs without Rosicky should not have been a challenge at all for them. All those terrible crosses, all those missed shots... no one to blame but themselves.

I would be pissed if I was a Polish fan. They didn't come close to breaching the Czechs' defense in the second half until the last 10 minutes. How can you just give up like that in a must-win game when it's 0-0 at half time? Amazing to see what everyone thought were the two worst teams in the group go through to the next stage. Now we get to see if Holland can save themselves from a similar humiliation.

When did Redknapp get sacked? Granted, I haven't been keeping up with the football news to avoid any spoilers (I was working and had yet to view some of the Euro matches on my DVR).

Also, living legend Michael Laudrup to manage Swansea? That's awesome news for them.

Think he got the boot on Wednesday. Reckon that there has been internal issues for some time. AVB is being talked about but David Moyes was the hot fave. Laudrup at Swansea is fucking amazing.

I don't want to call anything but the French look like legitimate contenders. They've got real depth and dimension in their team. Excellent defense with options to spare, really good and more than competent fullbacks. Although I'd still prefer to see Koscielny start over Mexes in that central defense position. He's so much sharper.

Midfield and forward positions is also packed to the brim with quality so I don't even need to go there.

France are looking good but I don't think they are at the level of Spain or Germany.

I fucked up my fantasy team this week. I thought the Polish team would go all-out and win, so I played two of them in my team with my two Czech and Greek players on the bench.  Piszczek got 2 points and Polanski got none. While on my bench Papadopoulos and Selassie got 7 each.

I also sold my captain Ronaldo and bought Gomez in his place. Naldo goes and scores twice while Gomez only got an assist last night.

Is this in a slap league, or your own league with friends? I would like to join the slap league if it actually exists even though I'm blowing it this round with my mismanagement. I had Bonucci and Chiellini starting this round and even though Italy got a clean sheet, neither of them got any points for it because they didn't play at least 60 minutes. I've also got 12 points sitting on the bench with coentrao and papadopoulos.

Del Bosque must really be crossing his fingers hoping he doesn't have to face off against England in the quarter finals. They looked pretty woeful today. All those attacking options, pretty much indisputably the three best playmaking midfielders in the game today, and you still get stone-walled by a hard working defence until the 88th min.

It's decent, but the two centre backs aren't the best, they're slow and at times often susceptible, not the best pairing, and I also just hate looking at Mexes he just annoys me haha. As someone said, Spain did look boring, yes they pass it well, but so far this tournament (apart from against Ireland who are a lesser side than both Croatia and Italy) they haven't been looking fantastic in the final third. Although still favourites for sure with Germany. Italy are definitely are dark horse, they're playing well.

Italy looked pretty uninspired today against Ireland. I have France as my third favourites but I think Germany will win it. I'd like to see Spain start Navas and Llorente going forward - I think that would provide them with the cutting edge they need against the better defenses. Torres is too unreliable.

I know, but honestly, Spain were better... While we were watching the game we only wanted Ireland to tie or win because a win over Spain was out of the question. And yeah, the refs will almost always side with the larger footballing nations. I can remember only one game where the ref was blatantly going against the bigger team in one of our matches (Italy, 2002). Oh, well...
