That's his brother! AHAHA.  Eden Hazard is the star, homie.

Not only do Spurs bring in Dembele and Dempsey but, Llorris, Adebayor, Siggurdson, and Vertonghen.  I think the message is clear, AVB...this is a pivotal season for the club's future.

I'd be peeved if I were a Liverpool fan.  I read the transfer fee for Dempsey was 6 mil. pounds.  Seems doable if your Liverpool.  Seen other players go for way more.  Unless Fulham refused to send him there.  Spurs looking bright with Dempsey and Dembele.
[close]

accepted a fee less than what liverpool was offering.

Liverpool's management blew it hard with this one. They went way too far trying to "tap him up" early in the window and they're paying the price now; Dempsey in June was telling everyone that he'd  be playing for Liverpool next season and Liverpool's ownership group (same guys who own the redsox) posted a message on their official site saying he'd been signed....without Fulham ever receiving an official bid. Now Fulham are pursuing a case against them with the FA and Liverpool have ruined their chances of signing him for a bargain fee. All of this will probably serve to re-inflate Daniel Levy's ego somewhat after he failed to get his $35-40 million out of Luka Modric.

I fear for Aston Villa, too. Apparently a lot of their (awful) senior players are on such large salaries that they can't afford to really strengthen the squad. They're going to be relying on 18-year-olds a lot this campaign and I really fear they could go down.

What's the deal with Mancini trying to implement this new formation with 3 in the back? Is this just typical pretentious, Italian tactical masturbation?

I think he's trying a plan b.  Last year they were predictable going down the middle with Aguero, Nasri, Silva, Teves etc.  To bring width he's going to bring a side back more up front.  That's probably why he bring in Maicon.  Might end up backfiring though. Didn't work against Liverpool.  I'd scrap it if I were him.  Excited to see how Javi Garcia will do.

He's trying to add more width to the without having to send both fullbacks forward, which left them open to counterattacks when they tried to force their attacks last season. With a 5 man midfield he can play two out-and-out wingers at the same time as Tevez, Silva, Aguero, Nasri etc. He'd be a fool to try it again in their next game though.

p.s. Falcao would be the best striker in history if they could convince him that every game he played in was a cup final.

Who all saw Falcao viciously rape Chelsea? He's gotta be the most efficient finisher in the world. The man can score with both feet, his chest, his head, going backwards...Surprised no one made a massive bid for him.

So stoked this morning.

Call me a delusional dreamer but I could see Diaby blossoming this season into the Yaya Toure that Wenger believes he can be (minus the ability to shoot). I still find myself holding my breath whenever he gets challenged but there were moments when he looked like a total boss.

had a banner week. hoping it keeps up but next week looks tough as chelsea isn't playing so i have to do something there.

This is what I'm worried about. I have three Chelsea players too. I really need Cazorla and Podolski to step it up this week.
And they did!

86 points without any of my 3 Chelsea players.

With the exception of him missing that penalty, yes.

You're right - it's just been awhile...

Once he gets a nice string of games in hopefully he'll start banging them in like the good ol' days. I seriously hope he doesn't get injured or something playing for France.

It was just a joke to how bad Reina is playing.  Did you see that gift he gave Hearts?  He was lucky Suarez saved him at the end.  The one he gave away to Cazorla was just as bad.

I didn't think the goal he gave up against Cazorla was that terrible. I guess he could have used his feet to save it but it's pretty hard to stop shots that are hit hard along the ground that close to you. Petr Cech on the other hand had an absolute howler the other week, like so bad that I couldn't even believe that a A-league goalkeeper could make such a mistake.

Liverpool would have won that game anyway if they were able to score goals. Their squad is lacking quality midfielders and strikers at the moment but at least their passing looks much better.

Chelsea are fucking powerhouse this season. It's absurd - and to think of the possibility of them bringing Falcao into the fold...

You're getting well ahead of yourself.  Chelsea so far almost let Wigan back into the first game after going up 2-0 early, got a lot of luck against Reading, and got battered against Atletico.  In my eyes they've only looked very solid once, against an unsually flat Newcastle.  They have some tricky fixtures in the next two months against Juventus, United, Spurs, and Arsenal.  We'll see how they look then.

I agree with that assessment. Atletico was the first 'good' team they've played so far this season and they got absolutely taken apart, with very little in the way of a response. They haven't really looked that convincing in their first few premier league games and Torres (their only real center forward remember) is never gonna be the player he was 4-5 years ago, 'comeback' or not. Cahill and Luiz are also way too inexperienced to face up against top-class offenses in the champion's league outside of last year's 10-0-0 formation.

I still think they'll be in the top 4 though.

About time too. And yet people still buy the Sun newspaper.

Glad you lot are getting a bit of justice, but were still going to stuff you on Saturday 2 nil (is that technically a "stuffing"?) haway the lads!

Watching Portland vs Seattle. Stoked on this rivalry. Replacement goalie for Portland lasted 10 seconds before getting scored on. Shot was amazing but still must of felt like shit for the backup.
