^ A much needed signing for Arsenal but I'm pretty bummed for Malaga. They have such a good team right now but the owner that they thought was going to pour a bunch of money in and make them a player in Europe seems to be looking to sell off all their talent now since  his other investment schemes in the area have gone through (facilitated by him buying the goodwill of the locals with his investment in the team). By summer time they will probably have lost all their best players and been disqualified from next year's champions league due to FFP regulations. Apparently most of their squad wasn't even getting paid at the beginning of the season.

No fluke?  Maybe not.  But I'd still bet on Real Madrid to win 3/5 games and Barca to win 4/5 games against Munich.  I think that United are a slightly better team at full strength as well.  I don't think Bayern have a goto player who will get them out of a tough spot the way Madrid, Barca, and United do.  Gomez clearly showed that he was not that player after failing against Chelsea at the final.  I think Suarez would be a great signing for Munich, but potentially a risky one.

I agree on Gomez but Ribery might just be that player. Robben has the potential, too. However, I'd say a team doesn't necessarily need that kind of player anyway. Bayern has an overall top-notch team and no major weak spots. Their organisation on the pitch is pretty damn good as well.

At least in terms of major footballing countries, surely you have to admit Italy's among the worst offenders? It's just hilarious that Berlusconi had this lapse so soon after applauding Boateng for leaving the pitch after that Pro Patria incident.

Maybe Italians and some Spanish offenders should watch this scene from True Romance.  Unless they know and are in total denial.

Definitely of the major footballing countries Italy as to be the worst, and yes it is cultural in Italy, they hate the huge amounts of immigrants coming from West Africa. No country is as flagrant.

Such suffering to be a Liverpool fan these days. Really sucks watching it fall apart two games in a row in the last 15-20 minutes. Got a really bad feeling about Swansea this Sunday too.

this goal was fucking unreal

I hope Michu scores a hat trick.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Liverpool.....just don't really have the players to be a very good team right now (like competing for top 4/trophies). Also, I've noticed that Suarez has been much less effective as a goalscoring threat since they acquired Sturridge, just seems like nobody quite knows who the main striker is right now.

Lots o' crazy goals from that Tottenham-Lyon game. I kinda forget that the Europa league is actually pretty good once you get to the knockout stages and teams start putting out their best lineup.

Indeed, I always love it when full backs score a goal.
