Ronaldo will never leave Madrid are you on crack and meth and heroin or sumthin?

I kind of think that too. United pound for pound are probably less able to compete for the Champions League compared to Real Madrid, and now that Alex Ferguson is gone I don't think there's a lot of other reasons for him to go back there. Seems like a bit of silly daily mail transfer fodder in so many ways.

On the other hand, due to Spanish tax laws, Ronaldo is apparently only the 9th or 10th best paid player in the world in take-home salary (maybe 8th now since Eto'o has moved on from Anzhi). I've read that a lot of the negotiations between him and the club recently have focused on this, but with 60% or whatever going to the tax man, Madrid would have to pay way over the margin just to get his salary up to an appropriate level.

Expected Swansea to trouble united a little more, but only saw the highlghts, so I guess that isn't a proper indication of how the game was played.

Swansea were by far the better team in the first half hour but, just like last season, United were able to score a couple of counter-attack goals which totally crushed Swansea's will. In all honesty it should have been about 3-2 to Swansea at halftime with all the chances they had in the 1st half. I think they'll be absolutely fine this season.

And...shit, it's all happening right now!

Reports are suggesting an agreement has been made for 93m + Coentrao (15m) for Bale. This along with Willian and Lamella talks apparently in advanced stages. Thats another 60m worth of player purchased plus Coentrao for spurs. Being that spurs have spent 58.4m that would take total spending to 115m-120m depending on figures. Minus 93m for bale, the 15m Fabio is supposedly worth AND the sell ons of Huddleston, Caulker, Dempsey and Parker (around 20m). And they've about broke even, more or less. That's some pretty hot business by Levy and Co.

IF this does occur the transfer market could really start to move along, as a lot may have been hinged on the Bale deal. There could be a domino effect, mainly seeing Ronaldo to united and Rooney to chelsea. Or maybe Di Maria will get unsettled and Arsenal swoop to ease the pressure they are facing at the moment. Fuck, who knows!?

Then again, I may have jumped the gun, none of this will happen as RM have no cash, Coentrao goes to united and Bale stays. Either way I'm happy. Im getting a little swept up.

Some sources say that Bale is set to stay, and that Coentrao might join us as a payment for Luka Modric (Real Madrid still owe us a ton of money).
And Willian is supposed to go through his medical today, from what I've heard. Will probably be announced as a Spurs player later today or tomorrow.

But, if Erik Lamela is close to an agreedment as well, Im thinking he must be a replacement for Bale.
Im really sick of all the rumours around Bale at this poing, and I would of course like to see him at Spurs for as long as possible, but if we get Coentrao, Willian and Lamela in, we still have the strongest team we've ever had.
Im fucking hyped for this season.
Hats off to AVB, Franco Baldini and Daniel Levy!
It also pleases me that Arsenal have failed to sign anyone.

I would love nothing more than for Bale to stay. It's possible, even considering the immense expenditure this summer. Club revenue, un-spent player revenue and penny pinching have apparently built up a substantial "kitty" over the last few seasons. That plus the new TV revenue. So it is reasonable to suggest they had 80-100m to throw around. But like you said, if Lamella arrives on top of Willian, you would have to assume Bale is out, considering our already stacked midfield.

But, fuck...Levy, Baldini and AVB have played a blinder.

kinda like how they got hacked when they listed Luka Modric on their team when he was still officially a spurs player?

how real madrid don't get sactioned for this sort of crap is beyond me. they get away with this shit all the time. either that or i'm just sour because they were two of our best players

Nope but there are suddenly 2-3 of them I guess.  For some reason my team just jacked Willian from them.

Caught a bit of that Monaco/Toulouse game.

Monaco, what a fucking joke of a club. They played in a completely empty stadium. Seriously. I don't recall seeing a single fan in that stadium. Could hear every word Ranieri was yelling to his team loud and clear.

From FIFA
"The match however will be played behind closed doors as Monaco have been slapped with a one-match supporters ban following over-zealous celebrations at the end of last season when they won promotion back into the top flight."

 :D :D :D

-Edit.  I'm very, very excited for the Sounders v Portland game Saturday night also.  MLS now has a true derby that any country can be proud of.

Monaco don't have many fans in general. Not surprising really, given where they come from.
They did give the world one of the most memorable CL games, though...

Don't worry, I'm sure its just a one-off and they'll get relegated.

I don't know about that.  They've spent well imo.  I kind of look at the clubs this year in the three sections.

The top 6: Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs.
The mid table 7:  Aston Villa, Swansea, Everton, Southampton, West Ham, Fulham, Norwich.
The 7 fighting for relegation:  Palace, West Brom, Newcastle, Sunderland, Stoke, Cardiff, Hull.

Palace and Hull are probably the main contenders now for relegation, but I can see any team from that 7 getting into serious trouble.

Ahem, if Palace buy Bendtner then they will be mid-table at least

A Chamakh + Bendtner partnership, that's 70 goals easily  ;)

Woke up 5 in the morning on Sunday to see City get dumped.  I fucking hate NBC.  Still trying to get over it. Without Kompany in there it's night and day. Pantillimon needs to replace Hart as well.  Hart does well on some of the harder shots to stop, but is a bonehead on the easier ones.  I give Cardiff credit though.  Only good thing is that it's still early in the season.

I'm not. Maybe this will be the first step to get rid of the mafia from our club. I am glad that these fuckers won't get the 8 mil. ?. Plus I like FAK so I am stoked for them.

Ramsey carrying on from what started around the second half of last season.

North London derby next, I can't wait for Sunday.

That guy has been killing it the first few games of the season. I kind of trash talked him a bit last year but I think his poor form was mostly due to being played out of position on the wing. Just picked him up for 5.5 million in the SLAP fantasy league but I think he'll be worth more by the end of the year.

I've tried Ramsey out several times before at fantasy.  He always seems to disapoint, but he is looking like a much more mature player this year.

These CL pots are full of shit.  How the fuck is Dortmund in pot 3?  Is this because of 2 seasons ago?  What a joke.  This shit should be based on a some kind of power ranking of where you finish in your league not how you did in the past CL's.
