Those headlines are typical out of context garbage.  I have no problem with what he said:

“I think for us now talking about winning a World Cup is just not realistic,” said the U.S. head coach before the Americans’ open training session at Sao Paulo FC’s training facility. “If you do it like Greece in 2004, I think that nobody from Greece would have said, ‘We’re going to win the European Championship,’ but they did. At the end of the day, soccer, the beautiful thing is it’s unpredictable. You don’t know what happens. Every game is another step towards the next bigger goal. Once we make it through the group that we’re in, we’re not shying away from anybody.

“But first we’ve got to make it through the group, so let’s stay with our feet on the ground and say, ‘Let’s get that group first done,’ and then the sky is the limit. But before and half-a-year before and even now (a day) before the World Cup starts, to say that we should win the World Cup is just not realistic.”

My prediction, Croatia's midfield will dominate at times but the defense and attack won't be up to par, resulting in a comfortable win for Brazil. But of course I'd love to see Croatia win.

I wouldnt say they got robbed, but it was a soft pen, should have had a goal that was disallowed and their keeper should have saved a couple of the goals. Brazil had more possession and more threat going forward but also some super shit acting skills. Should have been a draw.

Plus Cesc has signed for Chelsea.

I think everyone knew cesc was going to chelsea after Arsenal passed him up (for good reason too)

A little bit of sentiment and nostalgia is not worth 30 million pounds or however much the cost was. There are other areas in the team that need strengthening

Not a pen at all, but I do feel the ref got fooled by Fred flopping around like a fish out of water.  Croatia did well except for the keeper.  I thought all 3 goals were stoppable.  I hope they go thru.  Interesting take on Fabregas Smell Good.

Being Dutch I might not be the best judge, but that Costa penalty was another questionable one if you ask me.

How about that van Persie goal!

Great game. Van Persie and Robben killed it.
