Damn Frankfurt almost did it !
All English finals... I'm sure they will gloat about that for ages.

...but how many English players? :o
Spurs have 10 in there first team squad and Liverpool have 11 in theirs. Your point is?

Time to face it: I have become "that" guy. I fell out of love with soccer and can no longer see any good in it. Perhaps if I had anyone to play ball with, but I suck at all 11 positions. There's literally nothing for me to look forward to anymore, sportsballwise. If Qatar 2022 wouldn't happen, it would be all of the same to me. Same if my team wins the league or the Libertadores. Perhaps in a different world.

Did you hear that S. Arabia now wants to co-host the WC? It's hilarious.

That was a rad game, Mark Renton. I watched that clip dozens of times when it came out.

I really wanted Brighton to win, pretty anti-climactic that €€€city win another League.

We've been to PSG and Napoli...Belgrade and Germany.
And when we went to Allianz, Liverpool scored three.
Porto, Barcelona who the fuck you trying to kid?
We're the mighty Liverpool and we're going to Madrid.

And then they got NUMBER SIX.

My friend Russ is an ardent Gooner, and I just largely avoid any Liverpool mentions to him because I can see the anguish and I genuinely do not want to gloat.

That said, this is an amazing run of football and I cannot see them sustaining it much longer. But I am trying to enjoy it!

I too am a arsenal fan it’s been a painful year to say the least so many draws but Liverpool is on another level to the whole league. Quite mad the pace they are on the UCL is where they may end up getting knocked out but the league is unfortunately going to Liverpool for sure lol

Nobody cares about the FA cup anymore.

Was at the Barca game the other night. Was gonna wear my reds shirt and harass them to take a quick corner but thought better of it. Have basically given up on trying to get a ticket to see the reds play this season after coming all this way but will hopefully get there for the victory parade

It was the Champion's League, and it was the quarterfinal, not the semis.

Messi in the EPL next season? Would be pretty wild. Just hoping he doesn't go to PSG. Even Inter would be better. Napoli would be the dream obviously.

Why not?
I’d be giddy if Messi came to City, he wouldn’t solve all our problems but who’s going to say no to Messi?

Personally I don’t believe he’s going anywhere.

hahaha no offense!

It's just that, although I'm no football strategy expert, we still have Neymar/mbappe/Di Maria upfront. and they seem to want to stay. Messi would cost a lot of money and it would seem a wiser investment to get top level midfielders....

We saw in the final that Bayern had much more depth. I mean, Pavard and Lucas Hernandez are mainstays of the French squad and they did not play for Bayern at all. not even a minute.

Sounds like a fair analysis to me. Granted, I don't know much about football tactics either, but then that is part of the fun I find. You can be totally pretentious about the subject as it is completely unimportant.

The top teams today all have a front six/seven that are workhorses as well as great players. Reportedly Koeman told Messi that with his arrival at Barca, his privileges (of being a dressage horse, so to speak) would be over, as everyone needs to put in the kms. Evidently this was a bit too direct from the Dutchman. Maybe Tuchel wouldn't be that strict. And 40m is a crumb to al-Thani.

It’s the same thing with City, the attack is hardly the problem, but bringing Messi in surely elevates it to new hight that might gloss over other weaknesses.
Messi, Suarez and Neymar were quite something a fee years back, I’m sure Messi-Neymar-Mbabbe would be devastating.

City would have to sell a bunch of players to offset the spend. Unless they could get him on a free, but then his wages are astronomical. Personally I just think he will end up staying at Barca then back to Argentina. Unless he actualkly really does want to leave he will have to take a massive wage drop. Lets face it, he could afford it but he doesnt seem to be the kind of guy to want to.
