I would like to draw and paint more. I’m not good at motivating myself to do it.
I really dig these.
I Definitely have a hard time getting motivated these days, lot of sucky stuff going on and it’s difficult to get hyped to do anything for yourself.
Having a designated art space is super helpful.  Sometimes you just gotta force yourself to  sit down, have all of your supplies in front of you, and just make some shit. You might make some garbage you aren’t excited about , but
Just getting in the groove is very important.

Thanks, I’m glad that you like the work.

You’re right about needing space and setting aside some time. I am getting back into the swing of making things actually, but my girlfriend, for example, puts me to shame. She painted from 10am to about 10pm last night with minimal breaks. But the same zen painting brings her, I feel I can only achieve from wandering the streets or skateboarding.

I have a deep rooted feeling that my desk will always be there, but the outside world is constantly in flux. I need to start taking more photos or making things when I’m outside (I kinda do in a sense...).

I think having a studio outside my home one day would be amazing.

Thank you thank you. Those are all acrylic and or acrylic gouache (some mixed media).

The last drawing was done with some cheap markers from Daiso.

A drawing and a couple oil pastel works

The first drawing I sourced from a photography book. Watanabe: Gangs of Shinjuku. I believe

Thanks guys, here’s another based on a photo I took in Mexico City. Oil pastel. These are such a pain but gratifying. I’ll let this thread breathe for a whole after this! Thanks for peeping

Saw these at Small World coffee shop in Princeton today. Thought the artist should do skart. One looks like a straight up GONZ piece. BTW—all you guys are kill in’ it. I’m jelly.

I already posted this in the last good film you saw thread but-
This week a Brooklyn, NY film society called Light Industry is Vimeo hosting the Jem Cohen project Lost Book Found.
Cohen is a NYC art filmmaker and this work chronicles New York City moments filmed on 16mm with an autobiographical narration.
I'm not sure bit I think that famous floating plastic bag scene in American Beauty is a reenactment of a scene from one of Cohen's films if. that gives you an idea about his oeuvre.

This is the detail in part of a larger piece.  It's actually one of my most favorite things because I'm in ego death with a broken camera

I made this weird stop motion / 2D music video for my friend's recent release on a local independent label, spacey samply instrumental hiphop -

And here are some recent A4 prints I'm trying to flog to fund a group show next month, our restrictions are eased at the end of the month a bit so hoping it won't all be online -
