I did the collage for my friend's band's upcoming summer tour. My GF helped with the tour dates / text. I really need to get out of the "iM 0NlY aN AnAloG ArTisT" mindset and learn photoshop so I can do this stuff without relying on her.

Yo! You know the dudes in Movements? That sick. Seen them a handful of times, always a fun time. When that Outgrown Things EP came out a few years ago, listened to that shit on repeat.

Collage work is dope tho dude!

Another day of vacation spent injured. Learned highlights, gradient, and shadowing today. Line work is still messy though.

what kind of gear do you need in conjunction with Ai to draw stuff out? do you have some sort of electric pad + pen? Ive drawn my whole life and will need to become adept with Ai soon but I've never been around anyone using Ai

You don't really need anything, but a basic touch drawing pad is nice. Drawing with the mouse is hard. I just doodle on a note pad then take a photo of it and trace it in Illustrator and mess around with it. The learning curve is huge though, lots of basic things feel convoluted coming from Photoshop/Lightroom. You'll be kicking ass once you learn Illustrator if you've been drawing your whole life though. ;D

I really like this one @PuffinMuffin
Did you do this one in Illustrator too?
I'm just trying to learn Procreate on my iPad Pro. It's taking forever.

Thanks! It was made in Illustrator I think Procreate is easier to learn compared to Illustrator, and it's cheaper too. Procreate is probably the favored program among artists unless they're making logos. It does take forever learning to draw digitally, I tried learning Illustrator years ago and it felt too daunting so I went back to a sketchbook. If you stick with it, it should hopefully click eventually.

Any fellow animators struggling with the latest update to Maya? God I hate that bloated piece of shit of a software so much sometimes. Well idk if this thread covers 3D art but I might drop a few doodles here, digging the stuff posted so far, yall are sick!

Do it! We'd be stoked!

Maya looks fun, a shame it's 200+ dollars a month.

Maya is fun if you like slamming your head against a hard surface several times a day, losing all progress because you improperly assigned your project and forgot to set your temp files correctly. Oh did I mention that your reference files can sometimes corrupt themselves meaning you have to create an entirely new project to hopefully fix the problem and load in 2000 objects all over again? And don稚 get me started on rendering engine compatibility issues. Venting real hard because I almost had an aneurysm trying to install a new version of renderman lmfao, the 3D life is the hard life sometimes  ;D
