Finally got my garage glass blowing studio set up. Attempted my first marble with color last night. Got a long way to go but it's pretty fun so far.

I had the chance to betatest midjourney a while ago. To make the AI "learn" how to produce art.

it's INSANE what it can do.

I made this (well "it" made it actually) and I'm using it for my new wave band:

That's so fucking sick. I've been playing around with it too.

I do illustrations as a side gig. Feel like it's not long until there are fully functional vector-producing AIs. It's going to put a lot of people out of work.

Promps were:
"Rainbow City, classical"

"Goddess"

"Dog in the Afterlife, rainbow, flowers"

"Clear spooky egg"

"Horror cute"

"Spirit of the forest"

Beautiful stuff here. I haven’t painted anything in a grip. My brushes been in the soup since like march or better.

I might go back to drawing trees.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing. Bit scary to think what it can do! Just tested it and made my profile pic in a few minutes. Super easy to do, and I consider myself a digital boomer lol.

@DISTANT RUMOURS this is really cool. what was the process like?

Well, it was actually quite simple and easy:
- they asked artists to send in sketches and paintings of their work. All of that was all uploaded onto a server, and after that it would be analysed by the AI. At the same time it also linked with the google search engine.

That way it could "study" how art is made.

So if you would do a suggestion, the AI has a gigantic database to take styles from. It has the whole internet but it also understands how a "artist" would go to work.

This particular work is "painted" but if anyone ask for a woodcut styled work it can do that as well. It can produce any style from hyperrealistic to woodcuts etc. It's mindblowing.

As an illustrator this is both superscary and superinteresting. I know a guy who used to sell cd covers that he painted.

He bought a license and just generates cd albumcover after albumcover now. He sells them and makes good money and its "his" idea anyway he just uses the AI to make it.

But on the other hand it can (and will) eliminate the "artist" quite easily.

Why pay 350 dollars for a cover when you can generate stuff like this in a few minutes 'literally a few minutes!).

It would take me over a week to make this.

Finally got my glassblowing studio set up. Been practicing for a few weeks now. Last night I figured out a big aspect of silver fuming and this is the first one that got a full fume.

Cut down an old deck into a micro cruiser awhile back and painted Winsors first graphics on his last Assault shape:

I ended up giving that to a friend as a recovery present and he sent me these a few days ago:

Turns out Ricky liked it so much he wanted it, so it’s residing with him now. I’m stoked as hell that a guy that changed the way I looked at skating, rips, and is still active in the scene wanted a scrap deck I did.
*EDIT pics are showing in the post but not when posted. I’ll try posting them later if it’s the hosting site

i made some stickers

hallbarf was an art crew some friends and i had going in our early/mid 20s, basically involved a lot of beer and bong rips and busting sketchbooks out at parties and drawing gross shit, we were reminiscing and talking about making stuff again.
i haven't enjoyed drawing in a long time, but it's been fun not really thinking or caring and just drawing these dumb things

I love how serious the facial expression is on the character who's looking up while jizzing over(into?) the fire. Were you and your friends looking at/influenced by independent comix by Ben Jones / Fort Thunder artists at the time ? If not I think you'd be pretty psyched on Jones' work in particular.
The Alfe animations/comix he did years ago are a personal favorite

ha i'm terrible at proportion and perspective but i pictured it like he's gazing at the fire jacking off, a few feet away. has anyone actually jacked off and nutted into a fire? seems crazy, maybe on a cold winter night it would be doable

thanks for the link, this is the exact kind of mix of cute & disturbing that is right up my alley. i was somewhat aware of paper rad and fort thunder via lightning bolt but can only claim vague familiarity with this stuff. i don't really know much about "comix" other than this kramer's ergot book my local suburban library had for some reason that i kept checking out when i was in high school. at the time our main influences were lil wayne mixtapes, classic simpsons, secondhand horror vhs finds and thrasher skate & destroy for ps1.
