Morgan Smith was the first guy i remember making it from toronto proper but you are right

Morgan is also from the suburbs, but definitely was a city rat skating with the Davisville kids all the time and was a mainstay at Shred. Prior to Morgan Smith, there were guys like Justin Bokma (RIP). Couple other guys from Southern Ontario did well to like Thomas Morgan and Chris Haslem. Also, Apples really made it. I'm glad to see Morgan get a pro-board and be known, but Apples made it to an extent no other Toronto guys ever has, and the only comparable Canadians really are McCrank, Howard, and Colin McKay.

Haslam is from BC, never ONT. Apples came out at least 3-4 years before Morgan. Either of you remember Andrew Gordon? Also I would say Wade is equal to Morgan or Mark and also from ONT. Gibbs would have been the best though

people just mention half the year is winter but the weather over the rest of the year is garbage too, there is sand everywhere from snowplows til like late may and by july its humid af, there are like maybe 4 months of good skate weather a year here

Agree with some of the comments about Chris Roberts, I get that the show is supposed to be super laid back and not just a standard interview format, but at least plant some deliberate questions in there. Almost every show misses (or avoids, due to controversy) key points that I'm sure a lot of people are most interested in.

Yeah i had a friend that ran a small company that was  mostly financed by sending boards to a kid in Germany that would then sell them to all his friends out there for cheap (i assume the price of boards out there is pretty steep). He couldn't insure the packages cuz then the guy in Germany would have to pay taxes on it and the deal would be pointless, so he was always stressing that if the package got lost he would be out $500-$1000.

Andrew Gordon was sick, it's too bad things unfolded the way they did for him. I remember he had an interview in SBC a few years after the Flip thing explaining what happened. Didn't Geoff put on him on the team like immediately after seeing him skate for the first time?

I'd put Mark above Wade and Morgan, especially considering were talking career wise. Apples has atleast 2 legendary parts, a bunch of pro-shoes and a Skater of the Year award. I remember Andrew Gordon loosely but completely forgot about him. Also, Wade is from Ottawa which is where McCrank and Tony Ferguson are from, was talking more about the GTA area.

Haslam is from Ontario and lived there (and Singapore) before peacing out to BC in his late teens similar to McCrank. Morgan Smith is pretty much the only person from Toronto to stick around after going pro. Pretty much everyone moves to Van or California. Here is an interview where he talks about it.
