I feel like a fair chunk of pro skaters have relatively small bag of tricks.
[close]

I feel like it's more they just film the tricks they know will look really good.  No one gets to pro level skating by literally just doing a few tricks.  Like if a pro known for sick/stylish 360 flips put out an ad with a gross looking switch back heel or something, people would talk crap on it.

this is a good point.  Malto has essentially made a career of 4 tricks even though he seems to have a pretty deep bag.

as much as i love beebs he should probably get mentioned in this thread.

Small bag of tricks doesn't really mean a bad thing. Muska is def up there and one of my all time favourites, also Tom Penney didn't have a huge trick selection and is of course one of the greatest ever.

Tom Penny is different, we've actually seen him do a ridiculous amount of tricks. Have you ever seen that Es Menikmati bonus reel? He was like Plan B Mike Carroll with the bag of tricks he'd pull out.

Sean Pablo definitely has one of the smallest bag of tricks of any new pro out right now.  It's crazy that he got a board the same time those other FA guys got their.

Penny has a bag of shrooms instead of a bag of tricks but he could do whatever he wanted on a board.

but forreal though bryan herman kinda always does the same tricks..
theyre done good as shit tho so fuck it

Nice.  DGKhakis x difficult trick x Droors x iconic spot = unhateable.

I'm pretty sure any pro can technically "do" almost any trick, but the tricks might not be pro-caliber.  There are a lot of tricks I can technically do, like if someone busts it out in a game of skate, but they don't look or feel good and I'm not doing them on a regular basis.

Holy shit I would have thought Daniel Castillo would have been named almost immediately.
I actually like the dude but his on camera bag of tricks is really shallow.

Hufnagel...but he looks good doing those 3 tricks so that has to count for something.

Yeah...HUF had a very limited trick selection. Like you always know when he rotates 180 that he's going to do a half cab flip after. Even his grinds were limited. Love the guy though.

I guess since the come from the same breed of skaters, Louis Tolentino should be added there as well.

That's AMAZING and proper that you thought of that!

Tom Penny has an insanely deep bag of tricks. Look no further than @cultoftom on Instagram for proof.
Just because he loved frontside flips doesn't mean that's all he could do...he had it all. Honestly one of the best front heels I've ever seen is from Penny, which is not a trick he's known for via documentation.

Stranger is one of my favorite skaters but he kept it pretty simple in the scant amount of footage he has had over the years.

Ya'll should check out that Tom Penny bonus Es footage from menikmati when he was a kid. He did some ridiculous shit besides Fs flips. I still trip out he almost 360 flip noseslid a vert ramp. I think when you are younger and skating 24/7 its probably easier to keep a bigger bag of tricks than when you get older and cant physically skate as much.

That's just the style that Blood Wizard rolls with you could say the same thing about Jerry Gurney. I'd say Raven Tershey even though he's arguably my favorite skater to watch. Speed, Style, Power own Tricks all day
