Trackers have a good turn imo but they have to be falling-off-loose tho.  Try it out.  Trackers are cool cause when theyre that loose theyre still pretty stable.
i'll mess around with 'em next time. i've already got the washers off, i just don't like worrying about wheelbite. i think i psyche myself out about wheelbite more than i actually wheelbite though

The title of this thread could be misconstrued as a person with a fetish.

Just bought the Black Label Jason Adams Dolly Parton deck.

Google that shit if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Got some pink 60mm Slime Balls for free, so I finally had an excuse to buy it. Just need some 169’s and I’ll be ready for anything.

Should I do rails though, or no?

Do you want to scratch Dolly's face?

I'd do rails, but it's your board.
Enjoy your life.

Prime 9.5, 159s, Oj's
Hensley, 9" Tracker, 60mm dogtown 95a

Got the Skull Skates Trackers for cheap but man they turn like shit

How does that Hensley go?  Always wanted one, thinking about getting a reissue.

I've got a G&S Blender Faces & a Heated Wheel vert board waiting before that though, and i'm currently riding this thing.  The wood is weird, it sounds hollow when you pop and I imagine if I actually did any tricks the thing would just snap in a second.  Don't know what Blind do for wood these days, but its weird.  Pure nostalgia purchase.

It's a lot of fun, it has a 6.5" semi-steep tail so with 60mm wheels and fat risers the pop is hella steep. I ended up drilling my back truck in about 3/8" and it feels way better. Otherwise it's great, just something to keep in mind.

just copped this frog gallaher 9.125, having a hard time deciding what trucks to pair it with. not keen on indys so the ubiquitous 159s/69s are out of the running.

im considering the newish krux 9 inchers but ive never had krux and i hear theyre not the turniest. also read somewhere theyre 55mm high which i wouldnt be used to

the other option in the running is thunder 151s but not sure how 8.75 trucks would fair on a 9.125, tho it does look like the board tapers a fair amount.

any advice appreciated, cheers dudes

There's hella posts explaining truck to deck fitting but here it is

Measure your items man. Width of the board where the trucks are mounted. If you want wheels relatively flush with the side of the board you'll need truck axles wider than the board width you measured. This makes it more stable because there's less board overhang to influence a turn.

Most get axle flush with the board, or don't care as long as it's close. Like 149's on 8.25

Getting keen on Indy is never a bad thing. forged hollow's are 52+/- and light enough to not be noticeable after a few days of riding them

With that amount of taper 44s may even work. I'd go with Ace 44s or Thunder 151s.

That Frog graphic is both amazing and terrible simultaneously. I'm glad someone bumped this thread, I just set this up on Saturday to fuck around on and got in a quick 20 minute session on flat.

Scram 10.425
Indy 169's
OJ 60mm
Reds
random scraps of grip

This is the biggest thing I've ever skated and it's a lot of fun. I could never imagine this as a full time set up though, the guys that do that are way more talented than I'll ever be, but this is fun to break out every once in awhile.

edit: I'm not very good at posting photos.

I"m still riding this cunt and the wood is kinda great. Sounded crisp and hollow, but it's not snapped which is great and still has pop.

Because i'm a maniac, i'm thinking of getting this with some 215s

thanks for the replys. bit the bullet and got indy 159s as i found a set for a reasonable price.

i figured krux 9inchers wouldbe slightly too much with all that taper and while i am a fan of thunders quick turn i think that mellow/surfy indy turn will bode better with a wider board

I’ve been skating the Girl 9.125 phawt shape on Indy 169s with 54mm formula fours. It’s been a blast to skate transition with, but the 14.75 wheelbase makes the pop feel a little sluggish, especially towards the end of a session.

I’ve been thinking about picking up something in the 9-9.125 range with a shorter wheelbase next. That Herion egg shape looks incredible.

I was interested in that Kader, but it's only 32" apparently, which seemed a little short considering the width. I've ridden 80s shapes that were around 30" long and 10" wide that were fun, but it's different when the front truck is all the way up at the edge of the nose (longer wheelbase) compared to a popsicle.

the frog 9.125 i just got has a 14.38 wheel base, one of the main reasons i got it

It has a 14.5” wheelbase if I’m not mistaken, like the Polar 9.0” popsicle. I tested a Polar 9.0” briefly last Saturday and it felt too fucking good. Been trying to talk myself out of buying one ever since. 🤔

Indy 215s if you like your wheels sticking out a bit maybe flush.
or Ace 66s if you want the wheels inside the deck. you can add a two or three washers and maybe it be flush as well.

Edit: try to stick with the Ace 66s since the board seems to taper on the back.

Just magic carpet the mfer^.
I got a 10.25 symetrical pop stick with a 15.75 wb (id get 15.5 next time to try).  Id love to try a 8.5 by 34 tho, just to try.  The wider the board is, the smaller the wheels need to be because of something called 'swing weight' + you get worse wheelbite with wider trucks. Wide boards with big wheels are just big pieces of shit.  Thats why id like to try the 8.5 by 34, so's i could put some 58s on there.  Im on 50s rite now which is fun. I remember Gall talking about his 8.25 by 36 phase.

Oh, I probably would have liked that Kader then. I saw that it was sold-out on one website, and I just kinda thought "good for him".

Just saw this new Dane1 Shape from Polar for those that want a big board with a shorter wheelbase. Its 9.75 x 31.3 with a 14.125 wheelbase

Alright yea so

Indy 215 - 10”

Ace 66 - 9.35”

my deck- 9.89”

Which is better, trucks a little too wide or too small?  The gap would be bigger with Ace 66 but somehow hanging over sounds worse. what yall think?

Ace 66.  Take a look at the front truck holes. They are pretty far into the taper. With the 66s you will still see a bit of wheel.  On the back, the deck appears to taper to about the width of the 66s.

Here is what I use 55s on, big taper obviously so there is a slight overhang on the tail still.

Ace 55's would probably the go to for this board, correct? It tapers down to 8.75 at it's narrowest, near the rear bolts/tail area.
