Steve Olson made fun of me at the Sound Factory in San Francisco once and I've been sore at him ever since.

"hey bud, nice chakra allignment"

i wish they asked about his guilty intro. was it supposed to be an homage to him hiding in fulfill the dream or a skit that didnt pan out? i always used to think it was funny

My first real setup was that board(and I've been looking for it for some time) The obvious thing i did was look into Steve Olson. Thought his kinda nerdy look was pretty cool,  especially cause i related to it.  Glad he's doing well and has moved past being a pro skater

Fucking great read

In that era he was of the skaters that stood out to me
That wasn't girl/chocolate or world affiliated

My group of homies were snobs when it came to other
Brands but this dude always brought it

I had this board. Seems kooky now. I loved that one skatepark line in Fulfill the Dream that started with the kf into the bank, then frontside flip the box etc.

I also had that board. A lot of  Shortys stuff was kind of kooky but also so rad during that era.  My favorite line from that video was the nollie heel on flat then the kick flip lip slide over the pyramid thing.  Great interview.

Amazing interview, he's just as interesting as I always imagined him to be. Funnily enough, what impressed me most when I was young was his part in an old Union Wheels video the name of which I've forgotten. There, he tries (and bails) a 23 stair. I've counted those stairs countless times. It's like he was Ali before Ali.

I had that board!  Fulfill the Dream was a favorite growing up and all my buddies and I loved his part.  Above the Clouds was/is my jam.
