Favorite Bad Movies
« on: December 16, 2017, 06:02:19 PM »

Neil Breen, the director/writer/everything behind this movie, is an egomaniac weirdo with a Messiah-complex.

Charlie Sheen voices a dog detective, in this ridiculously bad CGI movie. Like if Toy Story was about food mascots. Weirdly creepy.

Possibly the biggest bad movie? I think the super-apologetic language slave in this scene is genuinely hilarious though.
It's pretty funny, and makes a lot about the movie make sense, reading about the financial fraud that went on:

Following the failure of Battlefield Earth and other films independently produced by Franchise Pictures, The Wall Street Journal reported that the FBI was probing "the question of whether some independent motion picture companies have vastly inflated the budget of films in an effort to scam investors" Intertainment had agreed to pay 47% of the production costs of several films in exchange for European distribution rights, but ended up paying for between 60 and 90% of the costs instead. The company alleged that Franchise had defrauded it to the tune of over $75 million by systematically submitting "grossly fraudulent and inflated budgets"

The case was heard before a jury in a Los Angeles federal courtroom in May–June 2004. The court heard testimony from Intertainment that according to Franchise's bank records the real cost of Battlefield Earth was $44 million, not the $75 million declared by Franchise.

the wickerman with nicolas cage is the best bad movie i can think of. getting drunk with some friends while watching that movie is magical. the first time we watched it we realized there was an alternate cut on the dvd so we circled back and watched the whole fuckin thing again, only to discover the only difference was that one cut showed his ankles being broken and the other cut didn't. totally worth it.

usedta be evil dead 2. seen it as an 11-12 yr old and it was scary. saw it a yr or 2 later, slapstick!

big trouble in little china. i smoked weed and thought to myself 'ol jack burton is the coolest mf-er imaginable'.

judgement night w/ denis leary and jeremy pivens. 4 yuppies on their way to a boxing match get stuck in southside chiraq where the baddest larry hoover dude in the hood..... is denis leary.
hilarity ensues, ari gold gets shoved off a roof, cuba gooding jr and emilio estevez kick it old school and watch each other's backs to survive. soundtrack gets special mention for marrying rap and rock, inspiring limp bizkit, korn and all that nu metal boolshit.
i prolly have a ton more.

Someones Knocking at the Door.

I selected this movie from a list of random movies on like Netflix a couple years back, it's basically about a zombie with a huge dick that rapes people, if I remember correctly.

Ha I don't think of Evil Dead 2 and Big Trouble... as bad movies even.
They're campy and goofy in parts, but I feel like they accomplished what they were trying to do.
Both of these probably fall somewhere in that category:

I just watched some of Judgement Night on youtube though. That movie's a fucking mess.

Chopping Mall - A group of teenagers stay behind at the mall they work at to party. The mall, however, recently incorporated a fleet of robots to serve as security and when lightning strikes the main frame, the night of fun inside the mall turns into a night of terror trapped in the mall.

The Toxic Avenger (series) - A wimpering geek jumps into a barrel of toxic waste in an attempt to escape his bullies. After the toxic begins to seep in, he transforms into the toxic avenger - New Jersey's finest superhero! Most other movies from Lloyd Kaufmann and Troma are fun too.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space - There's these clowns from outer space and they kill.

Street Trash - A liquor store owner in an extremely rough area finds a crate of strange alcohol and sells it to his lowly customers. But they get more than drunk from it. There's also some kind of trash cult war, but it's been a while and I don't remember too much from that part.

Kung Pow! Enter the Fist.

Still reference some of the shit in that movie, still laugh after all these years. Don't watch it all that frequently though.

Haha fuck yeah! There’s so many little things in that movie that still hit me just right.

“Birdie!!” “Tiguur!!” Or Master Tang swallowing the moths. Too much to list, I just love it!

After years of mild curiosity I finally powered through Dons Plum last week, and HOLY SHIT... It’s far worse than I ever could have imagined, it’s somehow exhausting to sit through, and yet I couldn’t look away. Just....WOW

I know damn well how terrible of a movie Starship Troopers is, but I absolutely love it.

Yeah, Paul Verhoeven movies are in like a different category.
Something like Starship Troopers or RoboCop are legitimately good, and have a lot of satire, despite maybe seeming dumb at first.

I'd put Showgirls and Total Recall somewhere in the middle.
Hollowman is a legitimately bad Verhoeven movie, that I genuinely like to watch.

The movie Seven with the ending scene.  The stinky head with kevin spacey narrarating is pretty much awesome.   They should definetely have shown the head tho.  Still best prop in a movie that I can think of.

Jupiter Ascending is an incredibly terrible high budget film. Definitely worth a watch.
