You have the half zipper because although you mobilize the colon laparoscopic you have to get it out of the patient afterwards.
You can‘t get it out through laparoscopic 5mm or 10 mm trocars, the bowel is too big.
So you need to make a bigger cut to remove it after you‘re done with the disecction.
Yet its less smaller than open (conventional) surgery.
exactamundo. looks like im gonna need the same surgery soon (small bowell resection) because ive been putting it off for years. in 2011 when i had it done they told me id most likely need the same operation every 4-5 years which is fucked. so i need a few more inches taken out and with any luck dont end up on a colostomy bag longterm. that shit sucks.
thats life tho just gotta keep on truckin, someone somewhere has it much worse, home is where you make it, etc
