jamie thomas is a major part of the mainstreamification, and catagorizing of skateing. making everything into a nice little package to sell at the mall.

as for the skaters they are amazing. i love john rattray, but jamie thomas is not the guy he used to be. and this new guy  the "chief" he sucks

saying Independent could "beat" Zero is like saying, "if almost every skateboarder in the known world put their differences aside for a moment and banned together, they could win KOTR"

People rip on Zero for just being a bunch of bangers who just skate rails and gaps...but look at baker, aren't they the same?  only maybe even more rediculous with what the image they try to portray?  just a thought.  I love em both.

yeah, but if you wanted to see how Zero would have stacked up you could compare their past point totals, or something

i hope the absence of zero breathes some new life into king of the road next year, as far as the magazine went it was pretty boring this time around minus the toy machine article written by the awesome lance dawes, the darkstar one was alright, but baker should have been assigned a writer or something... they should have been the most entertaining one but hardly said shit.

i wonder when they're gonna do one in europe, or australia

blank.

that would be cool.. but things change.... the zero now wont be the same zero in two years, as for every other team.

Well i think i mentioned this before, they should to a world wide one, say over a month, i guess a global one, as you have Europe, Australia, South America, so you take a team from each of them, then they get a week in a random as fuck place like Sweden/South Africa, and see what happens.

But yeah a Euro one would be good, in the UK we've got the "Big Push" basically the same idea but in the UK, with a month to make a DVD, which is pretty good, then the Frenchies have just done one for a bunch of the French teams, hence that Landscape vid on there site.

They should at least take the winners of each European version and do something world wide

As for the Baker article, fuck, it's depatable 90% of the team can read let alone write. . . .
...can't believe this thread brought Donnie Murdo out of the woodwork!

While I'm no fan of tight jeans and the cockrock flair, I agree with Donnie and art hellman on this.  It's become so easy for people to hate anybody, like Zero, just because the next fuckwit down the park does, or thinks he does but doesn't really know why, just because everybody else does.  It's a perfect example of tall poppy syndrome if ever there was one.  Dress them up in the slap-board uniform of beige cords, a white t-shirt and a pair of manchesters, but doing the same tricks on the same terrain and there'd be an almighty wankfest.

Exactly.

It's incredibly disappointing to me that my favorite outfit ever (brown cords, white shirt, half cabs) have turned me into a walking slap cliche.

I am probably going to go buy some DGK shirts to mix it up.

i love white tees but can't keep em clean, like i'll roll in the dirt once and it'll be perma-stained.  i bet they're cheap as fuck in the states but they're like 10 bucks here in canada.
