So fucking good Brandon.

I got a roll back yesterday but wasn't feeling most of it, kinda bummed since it was the first in a while.

Nice stuff Stefan and Chuck. Cognrats Hassl.

Shot a few shots while exploring this weekend. When I got back Sunday I imported and found a lot of the pictures were slightly fogged from lens condensation. Bummer. Here's two.

85mm f/1.8
50mm f/1.8 (or the 1.4 if you have the loot)
35mm f/2
28mm f/2.8
16mm fisheye
If you're not worried about auto focus, get either the 50mm 1.4 ais or the 35mm f/1.4 ais. The only two lenses I really ever use and they're fucking awesome. You won't be disappointed.

But I guess they do make that cheap 35mm f/2 for digis so if you're on a budget, go for that as Snickers posted.

Don't get the 16mm unless your digi is full frame (D700, D3, etc) though. Nikon 10.5 f/2.8 is the one you want.
thanks for the suggestions

also, here's a few old prints

i got a new dlsr for video, but am starting to dabble in using it to take photos too.   So far this is the only one that I don't hate, as I have zero photography experience

From my first roll of film, might post more later. Just did very minor changes in photoshop. A lot of the film was ruined because my stupid ass accidentally exposed the film to light when trying to rewind it back into the case.

Anyway, i shot this on 200 iso fujifilm superia film, but i'm not feeling its that great. Suggestions for film? (B&W and colour)

thanks

go to a couple different camera stores and ask if you can buy some of their deadstock film. you can usually get a boat load of film on the cheap, and while the quality will vary greatly, thats kind of the whole point to still shooting with film (at least it is for me at this point in time)

also, give cross-processing a try. buy some slide film and have it developed in normal c-41 chems.

Got my first photography assignment due next week. The subject is just "photos in the city", completely free of choice. I walked around some docks in Antwerp today trying to find some stuff, but there wasn't much interesting to find (I don't like going out and having to look for good photos and composition, it should come naturally I guess). Alse, the sun was pretty hard and low all day, so almost every light-colored object was too bright and the shadows were too dark. There must be some tips for these harder conditions (they don't really teach us photography in school, we just get basic info and assignments.) but it made it a bit harder for me.
Anyway, as a sub-par photographer and beginner I didn't really get much that I liked but I'll show you some. Critique and tips are well appreciated.

yes, focus on the toe would've been better. Didn't really notice it until I saw it on the computer

Was cleaning up my old computer and found an alternate angle of the 5-0 I probably posted awhile back.

Here's the one I posted.

yeah man im loving it (ba da ba ba ba) still working out how to use some of the settings, like colour desaturation and such, but its really fun to use, so many different things you can do.

my main thing that i love is that the normal settings (iso, white balance, aperature etc.) are much easier to access than my other camera where they were hidden in various menus

yeah, having used canon/nikon cameras as well, i enjoy the pentax interface a lot more. i mean, of course its simply a matter of getting used to a camera, but it somehow just worked faster with my kx.
