The thing that made the templeton 1 so great was that it had a hollowed out area, under the insole, that had a great clear gel pad that protected against heel bruises. As hammers style skating was in at the time, this was a perfect feature on an already long lasting shoe. You would never blow out that toe cap.
Aesthetically, the shoe was also better than the 2’s. By the time the 2s were out templeton was dressing in all black, and Emerica was kind of already being all motorcycle style dudes. The 1’s were around in the 90s still, like jump off a building era before the pissdrunx style came in, and I personally think that they are a better looking shoe.
