If I had a great session and broke my board Iíd be really happy.
If I was just skating around and did a shitty Ollie where I shifted all my weight to the nose and broke a board I would not tell anyone.
Iíve pretty much only broken a couple boards.
I buy the ones that donít break, I can tell when I pick them up.

Well I really liked the shape and the specs of that deck and I was legit shocked/bummed that I broke it the first session. Must be over a decade, that I broke a board that quick.

8" with Venture lows is fun but not practical. Set up this as my new main ride:

AWS 8.75
Independent 159
Ace 1/16" shock pads
97a Conical Full 56mm F4

Was skating this shape in 8.5" for a while and it feels good to be back on it.

thoughts on the shock pads? like this set up, inverted kp/baseplate too with the 159?

I like shock pads, the Ace ones are nice and thin but don't deform. I can see how some people hate them, but as an older skater with crusty spots I am down.

The 159s are standard that I modded myself with a Kreper KP and JB weld. I also modded a set of 55s at the same time, but the Indy's took the mod better due to the deeper baseplate cavity. More fuel for my inner war between Indy and Ace.

I know there is some history with the BFRD and SS set up clones but can someone point me to the page where it first happened? My theory is that they are IRL friends who are fucking with us. I mean it has to be right?

Great, not only do I have mystery e-stalker that is somehow surveilling me in my home, but you guys think weíre fucking buddies.  Now I gotta spend the night in a hotel while I come up with a plan to get my privacy back.  I really donít see the humor in any of this.

If it's possible to make a user mod of just 1 thread only, I vote @Buttfart Rapedick to be supreme moderator of this one. All setups that aren't DOA boards get kooked into oblivion or deleted.

I always thought Louie's boards looked different from classic FA/Hockey shapes under his feet. Less bulbous noses and more tapered looking. Is your board more like this by any chance?

Iím kinda a surfer that skates nowadays. Hard to underestimate how much Thomas Campbellís First couple of surf films influenced my life choices. Stoked I can skate deck from him too.

feels like it. the big steep nose is still there, but it comes in more gradually. some Hockey boards I've had have been super blunt, but this one is nice and smooth

If you watched Mason's 9Club stop and chat, he mentioned skating with Louie and having to use his board (and that it wasn't an issue) because 'it's the same shape' so that would mean it's closer to the DLX 'stranger' (usually Pfanner) shape which is the one off 8.25x14.12x31.7ish, the Hockey shape is: 8.25"x31.79"x14.12" so damn near spot on) which is also very full yet rounded compared to both the standard DLX 8.25x32x14.38 or the 8.25x32x14.25SE. It's my favorite DLX shape even with the tight WB.
