Chris Chann vs Jamie Griffin would have been good…

Now we get Griffin vs Vinnie Banh and Lil Dre, meh
take what small comfort there may be left
seize what you love and damn all the rest

Lil Dre is a legit pro it seems unfair to put him in the influencers bracket. I think he probably would have skunked Chris Chann the same way, going on the only game Chris played.

Gonna be interesting to see if it gets in Jamies head playing against someone who pops tricks high and at speed (like how luan intimidates his opponents).

Respect to sonny for trying his best on defense even though he was clearly outclassed. Congrats lil dre, really like his style and skating. And yeah the guy who said sonny still has little kid style, well, haha harsh but true. I'm sure he will outgrow it eventually.

Has any pro skater ever ridden blank decks for longer than Sewa? How many years has it been?

His original strategy involved showing up w/ a crispy, poppin’ new deck.
That wasn’t in the cards for him on the  day in question, so he was forced to resort to Plan B.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

Game could have went either way. Surprised Sewa didn’t break out his his hardflip bigspins he does.

Does Joslin remind anyone else of the Cockroach Alien from men in black?

I always wonder how people like Sewa keep skating at that level even though he pretty much has no sponsors - I mean, we all have bills to pay and, if you're not getting a check to skate, you're probably working on some other job and most likely don't have time/energy to train and improve your skills.

I've been saying this for the last several BATBs. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for how fucking good he is in these things. Dude just claps and looks baffled by the world around him then springs to life and perfectly replicates whatever trick is requested. It's some rain man shit.

He makes watching SLS somewhat bearable when he's in it too. Everyone else is going for like some tech ledge combo and he's just flying off the biggest ramp trying to do 360 kickflips.

how many people have had to leave this so far due to injury/visa/whatever else? at least 3 right? shows you how often pro skateboarders get hurt/go through set backs and how ridiculous it is to think everyone would just be available on standby for a year straight in this day and age of having to put out a video part a year to stay relevant… good game though.

when i watch games like this i have a bad habit of paying attention to how long is left and assuming the winner based off that, did not expect Sewa to come back like that, jesus christ.

I saw a kid from Ohio take someone out with a fakie fs 3 shuv in a close game at one of the community events here a few years ago. The kid he was playing just shot him the disgusted  "what the fuck, you're such a piece of shit" look. I'll see if I can find the clip

Are you sure he's still on Red Bull? He doesn't wear their hat, has no stickers on his board and his name is not on their page.

By the way, I didn't know they sponsored Jaakko (and a whole bunch of other skaters, almost 40 according to the website).

why??

some tricks are very easy if you practice them a little, but really hard if you don't.

there are some tricks most people don't practice at all because they aren't considered useful/legit.

if both of the above are true of a trick, it's considered dirty.

both of the above are true of fakie 360 pop shuv.

very awkward to just whip it out, but by no means a truly 'hard' trick. and have you ever seen one in an actual part? i really can't recall any.

i'm just giving you the common definition here. i personally don't think a standard trick really counts as dirty, even if it is one that's very rarely seen in a particular stance (nollie varial heel for imstance).
