Didn't this go thru hell over music rights? Maybe the office all pitched it to sort it out and a credits the least they could do.

notice there is a man talking on the phone at the bottom of the photo. in the video you can see clearly there is no one there at the bottom when he does it. also in the video version, there is a guy in a blue suit talking on his phone in the middle of the stairs. clown shoes think we wouldnt notice

Louie for SOTY, hands down.

He's simply more sophisticated than the competition: His tricks just have that extra bit of panache, it doesn't hurt that he's doing them on unique spots all around the world (not just in NY, or in Cali schoolyards, or the streets of SF), and his editors do him all the favors in the world.

If skateboarding is art, Louie is the most artful of the bunch.

Why do people think "the cover needs to be the make?" Where did this come from? It's been my understanding for literally decades that the photo in the magazine is just the best photo they shot and not necessarily the make.

louie: great alround skater, no style, not unique

my soty goes to nyjah.. barely.. mainly because he derves it, not just for this years output (i know its skater of the year, but still) but for his contribution to progressing skateboarding like no other. and this year is probably his last at this level. tyshawn gets a close second, he is also the best at his thing, but having won it before it would require some extraordinary shit for him to take it again, plus having less competition. louie imo, isnt even close. there is nothing about him worth remebering, he is just a great but bland skateboarder.

the shadow of the plants on the wall is extremely close to the photo so if it isn't the make it's right around the same time, seems possible that the interested onlooker was photoshopped into the make from a prior attempt, as it does add to the photo... kinda like how fatbill will splice in a previous attempt if it has something happening in it (birds, cops, titties, etc).

hell yea its art. but art is in the eye of the beholder. imo louie is the least artful of the three. even nyjah is more interesting. but thruth is i dont like any of them in this regard. but soty race has turned into a straight quantity battle, unfortunately.

The gap front shuv clip is how to properly use slow-mo. Floating forever.

Louie is my preferred SOTY choice and has been basically the last 5 years. It's effortless for him, literally surfing on concrete. I think his style is probably too close to Suciu that Thrasher will auto-correct to a little more reckless style.

It comes off as boring because his style is so effortless. For me I get a vibe of relatability from Louie, and then I re watch the part like "what the fuck was I thinking I can't do any of this" where as TJ and Nyjah I know from the jump I can't do that shit.

Louie should get soty just based of song choice. Nyjah and Tyshawn songs were so terrible the rewatch is not gunna happen even tho the skating is incredible

same. He just floats effortlessly.

Also, I wasn’t a fan of Erik, really am after this. That back noseblunt before the inward heel was prime. And normally adult braces (aside from Louie) are an automatic no for me
