I liked what they were going for with the editing, but the execution wasn't so good.

Gilbert is one of the greats and only seems to be getting greater.

normally i wouldnt say someone changed up their style if all they did was change up the fit of the clothes they normally wear, but those pants are comical. That being said, that was some of my favorite gilbert footy to date and i really liked the edit

That was one of the best parts I've seen in years. The ollie up the ledge to ollie over the black fence in the beginning was fucking sick. Half cab flip over the block he sw popped shuved over was crazy too. That ender was definitely an NBD, or maybe someone can correct me. I think some of you of are fishing for anything with some of these complaints. Because you know the song wasn't thaaat bad and you know he was basically wearing dickies with a shoelace belt and not jncos/blind jeans...

easily one of the best parts of the year. I'm actually surprised that anyone could dislike his skating. huge pop/great style/going fast kinda negates any dumb song or clothing IMO
I;m sure i;m not the only dc/monster/subaru type guy here

My favorite style/approach/trick selection.  I'll be watching this for a while.  I like when people go crazy directions with their gear...Those pants are from this Japanese company that makes them in small batches and sells them for like $400

Is that Japanese company called Dockers by any chance?

Gilbert just seems like a weird funny-in-his-own-way guy. I personally don't find it all that funny, but that's just me. The board throwing didn't look so much like a tantrum to me, just committing to physical comedy maybe? I don't know what I'm talking about. The switch bs smith on the hubba was one of my favorites.

And that song is a Black Lips song, and as such I must support it. They're old friends and I'm happy for their success.

maybe just maybe the pants are a joke to him, he doesn't seem like hes taking himself to seriously.

When I watch this guy, I think the complete opposite. All that methodical anger and flipping out? I think he believes he's creating the cure for cancer with those tricks. Ehh..I'd rather watch(insert typical older low impact mellow skater here).

Haha him and a lot of those Bust Crew guys are really nice and silly dudes. Whenever I see Gilbert skate he's either just cruising around doing pretty basic stuff not putting on a show or anything or just sitting around watching other people.

song was cool, but feels like one of those annoying ones that could get stuck in your head after a listen. Maybe he should have skated to mc hammer.

The pants thing has to do with Gilbert and Taylor Caruso's friendship with the guys who run Lady White Co.

That was awful. Worst pants in the history of skateboarding. Dude looked like a moron out there.
[close]

Holy fuck your pretty new to skateboarding arent you?

There was a time, believe it or not, when almost everyone wore size 38 blind jeans(in a rainbow of colors) with xxl tshirts and 36mm weels.

Anyhow, baggy pants make skateboarding look better and it should have never left.

If like 12 years skating is pretty new, then yeah, i'm pretty new to this whole thing.

Gilb's pants are worse than anyone in 411vm issue No. 1. He looks that bad.

Yeah, it's silly to critique pants, but when image is part of why dudes make it in this industry, he's blowing it. Imagine how much better this part would've been if he just had on some normal clothes.
I’m a ghost that everyone can see.

"fellas, the pants are a giant joke, gosh!"

"great part, but those trousers made it unwatchable"

"this guy doesn't take himself too seriously. the pantaloons are just part of his quirky personality"

or

what if Gil-Dogg actually likes the look and feel of baggy pants?

You guys all know that bitching about bitching about his pants is part of the conversation around bitching about his pants right? And that you're part of the derailment you're complaining about? Anybody?

That ender was definitely an NBD, or maybe someone can correct me.

Silas did it on a handrail and Suciu did it on those rails in Philly for his (I believe) Search the Horizon part.
