Just radial, not the full version.
I rode some conical full samples so they are coming potentially.
Classic Reynolds 52/53/54
Radial 56/58
[close]

No radial in 54? In the spitfire instagram post, it shows a non-Reynolds wheel labeled “54”. So I assumed that was the radial graphic
There is, my apologies.

No worries. I only ask because I’m already riding 54mm Radials, and loving that shape. Hyped for these 93s

I just hope the wide wheel fad dies soon.

I really dont see issue with it. There's bunch of slimmer wheel shapes available for those who dont fan out chunky wheels.

Picked up some of these Easy Slider 93s today, ostensibly to test this new “Dragonslayer” flavor out
Wound up with the 54mm Radials.
Haven’t set them up yet, but I heard some talk & now I’m what you might call soft-wheel curious.
Mind you, I don’t ever see a need to stray from my beloved F4 99a formula, but the 97s have shown to have their application & I have a set of them in service on one of my current set-ups.
All the same, after trying the Bones X-formula on a friends ride, I was curious to see what a Spitty take on the softer feeling, but still slide-y wheel would be like, so here we are.
Impressions available after testing.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

April Fool’s

Really though, the 1st? I didn’t see a date, just said April on Spitfire’s post.

Edit: April 1st is a Monday, so that when shops will be able to order.

Partly true, but lately there have been a whole lot of new wide wheel shapes introduced to the market, and flat out zero new slim wheels from any manufacturer. Plus Spitfire has pretty much killed e.g. the Radial Slim shape. Just wishing for a more even balance with regards to options.

Spit's fat invasion has led me to ride more Bones wheels than I ever thought I'd ride.

og classics get really sharp edges when they wear down…
right?
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Skating f4 classic 52's. They are probably 50's by now. No sharp edges.

I think the edges will get sharper, the more the wheels are ridden down. Maybe that is just in my head, but I always felt the sharp edges don't help that much with flip tricks. Especially those flips that finish the rotation really close to the ground. Those kinda flips where you think, oh damn I will land primo but then you roll away surprisingly. I hope that made sense ^^ Otherwise, the sharp edges look kinda cool and the lock in for grinds is nice.

Any wheel worn down enough can get very squared off, but the OG Classics are very sharp and often chunk out on the edges when they wear down some, so they don't last as long as others, like normal Classics which can be worn down a lot and still feel ok.

Wheels that are rounded that stay roundish / not sharp when they wear down:

Classics
Classic Full
Radials
Radial Full

Wheels that get really sharp or often jagged edges when they wear down:

Tablets
OG Classics
Conical
Conical Full
Lock Ins

I keep hearing about the classic fulls but I must have hibernating when they were a thing. What years were those out?

The most recent were the Max Palmer wheels exclusively on the Limosine site, so no surprise there that they didn't get a lot of a show.  Mid last year was it?

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0609/5067/5676/products/56mm_HeroShotWeb_1100x.jpg

The Repeater graphic came out maybe last year too, natural 52 and 54, black 53 mm sizes, some still out there.

Prior to that, from pre 2020 there were the Grosso versions and the Lance versions, some different colours, but also some 3 / 1 mixes, so three natural to one coloured wheel in each set.

Well before that they were a staple, just the usual blue graphic for 99s and red graphic for 101s and available everywhere in sizes from 53, 54, 56, 58 at least.

I should have just reposted this one I put up a while back, but you can check out all the info and pics from page 186 here:

Yes. Takes a while though. At least with 58s. That's the only set I've had. Purple and green. I need some gold now.

Did Spitfire wheels increase their price recently in your countries? In Japan they are ¥1000 (about $8) more expensive than a few months ago.

Yeah they’ve been steadily rising here in the US. In the DadBoard video I referenced above, he nonchalantly mentions something like “if you’re going to pay $50 for a set of wheels, I want you to be informed” so I’m guessing these 93s are going to be even more expensive than the 99/101 F4s.

Yes I heard we will be paying $90 in Canada soon and my local said he is probably not going to be ordering spitfire anymore :(

That being said I finally got around to setting up some old dragons someone gave me and I actually think I could ride these full time. So maybe I will bite the bullet and pay it , but at least I have the advantage of having lots of fresh wheels at the moment so hopefully can scoop on a sale after they’ve been out for a minute

Yes, Spitfire now reaching 75€ in the Euro zone from what I can see online. Used to be below 70€.

When ValSurf had the 93a wheels for sale (until 20 minutes after I posted a link), they were all priced at ~$40 from the 52mm Reynolds Classics to the 58 mm Radial. The price people pay is going to depend on the shop, but they shouldn’t be priced differently than other F4 wheels.

In America, prices went up from $40 to anywhere from $45-50, but a few shops are still doing $40-42 (for new releases). For example: ValSurf does $40/set, DLX/Atlas does $42/set, 303 does $47/set (but $55/set of Big Beatdowns), and No Comply does $50/set.

$50 might be the American MSRP that shops are hesitant to push because people can buy Bones X-Formula for $40-42.

I was going to say if I go to my local for some F4s after taxes it's damn near $50 dollars.
