^^Thanks man. I actually thought it was more clear on camera but when I saw it on my computer, there was some odd shit to it. I shot it on HDR mode too which probably gave that haze look. The sky would have been blown out otherwise. I was sort of on one that night from drinking but I had my gear with me and went out to shoot that since I was around. Not the best placement ever but whatever.

back in school, taking a photo class. never gone to school for it so it's all pretty awesome. looking forward to processing my own film on Monday and getting back into the darkroom.

I love making prints, here are a couple older ones I did.

sick

I hate scanning my negatives, it feels pointless sometimes. long live the print! and I must say I love those borders aswell
I have been trying to get all the pieces together for a darkroom, it's finally complete soon

Except for maybe the cars I like all of them a lot. You shot them with your phone? That's pretty amazing.

^^^Recommend any good film for that camera? I have a Canonnet and hardly use it cause I felt the quality (whether the camera or the film I got) wasn't worth the effort. I'd shoot a whole roll and have it converted to digital and most photos came out the quality of a crappy cell phone camera. Also the light meter was off but I was told that is something that happens with that camera. A lot of photos just were just a hit and miss.

Some Kodak portra should work fine. Or a tri-x 400.

tri-x 400 should treat you well. very well.

i am shooting a roll of cheap expired colour film right now for both of them to test metering and stuff, but they seem alright.
also, with film photography, i guess it is a lot of hit and miss, especially if you are used to having a dslr where you can shoot in almost every light, as with film, especially with iso 100 or so, its harder since shots at 1/50th that would be perfectly fine with digital can go horribly wrong..

also, depending on the kind of canonet you have, they can be kinda soft wide open, but there are a few amazing ones.

Yeah....I had to get that out of my mind when shooting with film that this is not digital. I went to see Nas and Talib Kweli at a signing and concert and shot almost a whole roll per event. Literally all the shots came out the same but one from each batch came out clear. In essence, I spent over $10 to get a couple of photos and at the time, my DSLR was in for repairs. Next time I need t just shoot once and get it right the firs time.

Here are my photos. Forgot which exact film but it was maybe a ISO 600 film. I tweaked them out in photoshop a bit to make them even sharper.

those dont look bad. i really like the blurry head in the 2nd picture.

i have to say that shooting film changed the way i approach digital too, no more pressing the shutter like crazy. then again i basically just shoot fixed focal lenses which changes everything again too.

if you wanna give really cheap analogue another go with great quality, get a pentax me super with a 50mm f1.7 and tri-x 400. i was blown away.

This was my first film camera combo as well (except with a 50mm 1.4) and I totally agree with you, it's an excellent camera. I don't use it much anymore since I bought a Bessa R2M rangefinder.

Hercules Rockefeller said most of it !
Middle format is fantastic as well, I you wanna learn get yourself a lubitel 2, they are dirt cheap, quite impossible to focus but produce very nice pictures !

A couple from my last roll, first time I tried colour really...

Portra 800 and 50mm :

And one I took this summer with my rolleicord :

I only shoot film and a lot without a lightmeter just because I think I would miss loads of "kodak moments" cause it always takes a minute or two  trying to measure the light. let's say your batteries might be dead and I also like the fact you're not dependent on every little electronic thing. I like to keep it as analog as possible

A few notes:

Slide film is harder to expose, if you under or over expose your shot with a stop you will notice
Negativefilm is more "forgiving", so if you're beginner buy negfilm. Trix or portra as stated above.  I usually try to overexpose negativefilm +1 stop or 1/2, try not to underexpose your shot too much. Negativefilm won't find the details then as well from the dark areas

Google Sunny 16 rule which means plainly that if your film ASA(ISO) is 100, on a sunny day use f 16 and shutter same as your film ISO -> 1/125. If you have ASa 400 film on a sunny day f16 and shutter 1/500.

Don't shoot handheld under 1/60 if you wan't things to look sharp.

you will learn the rest and let's say how to exposure things in the shadow or things on a cloudy day when you shoot more and experiment!
wont bore you guys more just remember there's no rules and no "right" exposure  for a photo!  maybe this inspires someone to shoot more without all the equipment, Long live the film!

Thanks brews, really appreciate all the positive feedback. Someone asked if they're all on my phone and yes, they are. Shitty film filters and all  :-\ I think it adds something to the photo, though; a certain romantic feel. Anyways, here's a few more.

Everyone is killing it in this thread ^ that black and white pic from above is fantastic, man.

^haha, good find!

3 more. gotta admit that shooting pano format is not as easy at it seemed, it's really a different thing. had the same problems with square format too, the way you look for the next image has to change.
