Herman nollie tre at the SOMA demo yesterday.

Rad photo. I love pictures like this with lots of people in them.
The Boss looking on approvingly.
That long hair with the brown shorts looks like he is holding an invisible camera.
Is that Jake Donnelly not even watching the action? Looking like he wants to fight.

Dude, don't be nervous! This is the only thread on Slap where I've personally never seen shit slung so people should always feel safe here. Those are definitely some good photos for your first foray into black and white photo. I'm currently teaching high school photo and I definitely started appreciating the process of developing skills a lot more. As a skateboarder, you naturally have a more interesting view of the world than most people, and I'm pretty sure most people here would agree with that. I especially like the American flag and truck shot!
Does film and print processing still get taught in high school? I probably spent a solid 2 years in the dark room fucking off all of my other classes.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Yup! The school I teach at is relatively young - it's only 10 years old so I'm really surprised they included a darkroom, but I'm glad they did. I know a lot of schools have axed it though, switching all to digital.

That saddens me.

Yeah, it kills me. Even colleges are going that way. I just got some cameras from a friend who saved them from a local community college getting rid of them because they switched to all-digi. I've got absolutely nothing against digital (a significant amount of my work is digital), but I feel like learning on film is the best way to go. It's hard to convince people who don't have any interest in photography why it's true.

I just don't see how anyone can really develop a passion for it if they don't do it the old way first. Bulk loading your own film, processing it and going into the dark room to manipulate prints. To me, that's the essence of it. No one will ever appreciate the art of burning and dodging by just pointing and clicking. Plus other techniques.

Couple from last nights trip.

Realized I need a wider lens if I want to get more serious about these kind of shots.
Anybody here familiar with the micro 4:3 system, and could recommend something?
Prob looking something reasonably priced..

Thanks !

I can't recommend these countries enough if you wanna see the real Balkans for yourself. Montenegro is very beautiful but quite touristy on the coast, Albania is very fun, not incredibly beautiful but it's quite the adventure...  Get a good map ;)

And it's CHEAP. 1€ everything basically.

Thanks !

Lots of great work here, thanks for sharing.

Smerdyakov, the first photo is one of the best skate photos I've seen on here. A lot of good shit adding up in that one! Nice work, man.

This whole page kills it. I'll post some shit soon.

Thanks, he rolled onto it and dropped off to the other side which is typical rail height. We were skating another spot and found this, 8 or so attempts, one sketchy landing then this is the make he got perfect.

Slap members are prolific with the pictures. Always love logging in and seeing the thread updated.
