Really interested in the two twins but the G027 has been on my mind. The thought of a popsicle with a shorter nose than tail is different.
Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s Koston’s shape. Every G027 board was on his pro model. Now I think Niels skates it.

It's shorter, but by a tiny amount and I think the shape would make it feel normal.

G027 is my favorite 8,25” shape. The board tapers more towards the tail, and the nose is more of a fuller, blunter one. Balances out the nose being slightly shorter.

I have skated the g027 with thunder 147 and also with venture lo 5.2. It’s a great deck for trucks that push the wheelbase out. Hearing it was Kostons shape makes sense because it is a magical board

the last one i had was this really sick graphic cory did, i think. so it’s been a minute. i was deep into the weirdness and skated it on ace 44 classics with 56 conical fulls, neither truck, nor wheel, is something i’d prefer. it worked fantastic, for several sessions. and then something happened, bad day or whatever, and i took a look at the board and decided it was too visually weird. just the big wheels, nonsense.
the pop was easy on that one tho.

i got one of those huf x girl decks. haven't skated it yet and only just saw it due to having it sent elsewhere, but it looks like it's going to be a fun deck to ride. not sure what the # is on it but i realized how flat it was when i put it in a freezer full of dlx/generator boards

I'm back on a G027 after a couple of G069 twins... I'm honestly not sure if I prefer one shape over the other, I think the G069 edges out for practicality and durability as it wears more evenly, and I don't need to worry about whether i'm skating a nose or tail, but there's something fun about the G027...Deffo the GOAT of 8.25s for me, pairs super well with Thunders.

i can see how ace 44s would work well, the af1s are that size pretty much.
148s would be a go.

i’ve tried to skate the tapered shapes on smaller trucks and it just messes with me. i was always more magic carpet, but then all of these damn kids made hot rodding look cool, and then i got stuck in that. i’m sure the same damn kids will make magic carpet look cool, and then i’ll be on the wrong side again.
at least kalis got to be sorta cool again, kept it trill. not me. when skinny jeans came around i went all in baby.

I’m sure this has been talked about already but how’s the g053 shape like? Thinking of ordering a board with skate warehouses Labor Day sale and feeling crailtap nostalgia atm. I normally ride baker og shape, is there a major difference between the two? Also what’s crail wood like now a days?

Just got one, never skated Baker, but I’m enjoying this shape so far. It’s more mellow than the BBS decks I’ve been skating. I measured it and it’s only 8.5 in the middle. By the trucks it’s like 8.25. Almost has a subtle egg shape when you really stare at it.

Idk about the shape, I skate G052, but wood is super good nowadays. I like it better than BBS or anything else for that matter.

Can concur the new wood is decent. G052 is a shape I skate at least one a year of.

How’s this one working out? What are the dims on it?

Just got in the Mouse 096 shape. Really excited to try it. Shape is great, wood feels really solid too. Only on BBS for the past 5 years- krooked polar and quasi. Trying to decide if venture Hi or Thunder Team Hollow.

Havent done it, but have skated loveseat with 55’s, 159’s, and 151’s and I think 44’s would be far too small personally.

I agree the G016 is garbage. The tail is way too small. At least 75% of my boards in the last 7 or so years have been the G030 (the other 8.38), and while I would prefer the 14.25 wheelbase, the nose and tail are perfect IMO.

Anyone try the newish G059 (8.4)? It has the 14.25 WB but has a longer tail than the G030. I'm wondering if the tail is steep. I love the mellow tail of the G030. Seems like they are trying to replace the G030 with the G059. FWIW, the 8.38 BBS shape with the pointy nose and tail and 14.38 WB is nearly identical to the G030.

Setting up a G052 and I’m debating between Thunder 148 lights and Venture 5.6 cast ( which I already own both). As far as I can tell the G052 looks pretty similar to the FA 8.25 which I enjoyed with my Thunder lights. Anyone with experience on the G052 with either of these trucks could tell me your experience? I know if I don’t like one or the other I can always swap but I’d really like to set it and forget it so to speak. I’m on 54mm conical by the way and the Thunder baseplate thing is a non issue for me. Thanks in advance.

I've been riding a G053 for a few weeks now, took me a while to get used to the steepness compared to the DLX boards I usually ride but I'm starting to enjoy it a lot now.

I had a horrible time with the G052 combined with 5.6 forged Ventures. The tail felt too long, my pop was so messed up it was shocking.

They need to always stock the g069 and it would be awesome if they made it in 8 and 8.125 as well.  If they made it in a McCrank/Kennedy that would be the cherry on top.
