glue the tongue in place.

unlace top holes.  put a dot of crazy glue between the top two lace holes that you use, on the side that it slides away from (inside for me). re-lace top holes.

do this while you have them on so the tongue is just where you want it.  you can still tighten and loosen because tongue will only be "pinned" on one side.

1 month update on my canvas highs

So far I've only managed to break a lace. Kick flips are basically the only trick I do, so I expected the flick area to be decimated, but there's virtually no wear on them aside from some fuzzy stitches. The only minor annoyance is that they're doing the converse thing where the rubber opens up a little bit by the ball of your foot when you crouch. Otherwise, no issues at all.

Highly impressed with these and I expect to get another pair when the tread wears out.

glue the tongue in place, replace the insole, replace the laces, shoe goo the sides, microwave them, step in dog poop, throw them away, and buy some maranas, they would be more your pace

Fuck yeah! I just got mines in the mail last week.

Have you been noticing any difference in the sole, that's the only downside for me rn. But can't and won't complain.

the sole is starting to go bald under the ball of my front foot, but holding on pretty well everywhere else. When these get cycled out, it's definitely going to be because of the sole wearing out instead of the upper.

I wear 12/12.5 Instant Gamechangers in size 13 Suede His. I think they're 5mm? Very comfortable. TBH the shoes were too big without them. I've got a wide, flat foot and like some space in the front, but the FPs also fill some vertical space that the stock insoles didn't

FPs are made to be cropped, though. So you could go TTS and cut them to fit if it's an issue

same goes for me , but I cannot really complain as they hold on long enough for my likings.

I decided to try some vm001 highs. They fit snuggish/tts with thinner socks or barefeet, but do they stretch over time if I want to wear thicker socks in them?

My canvas ones took a long while to stretch out, but they did eventually. I imagine the suede ones would stretch faster since they don't have the rubber backing.

Skated my lows today, and damn they felt good on transition! The insole is so, so thin though and my feet were really cryin' put for help after a few hours of skating low impact stuff.

When I got home, I just threw some NB Tiago insoles (both shoes size 9 and tend to run large) right on top of the LR ones and loosened the laces up just a bit. The shoes now fit snug on me but not too tight, and feel a lot more supportive. I'm really used to that feeling of a substantial insole, and I can't wait to give em another whirl with the new setup.

That's one of the things I love about them. I have a thing for vintage bowling shoes and they're the only skate shoe I know that approximate the look

Ok, thanks for info. I have the canvas ones. I wore them with thin woolly socks on feet for a bit and they feel just a little bit roomier which is nice.

It has been stated few times they do. I have no experience myself since I have yet to skate my shoes but I read from others in this thread they wear out pretty quick.

On the two pairs I skated the soles (particularly under the ball of your foot) seem to be the part of the shoe that wears down the fastest.  The sole didn’t bother me too much though jumping down smaller stuff repeatedly and I think if you replaced the insole (which is pretty thin) it would make up for the wear and not be much of an issue.  I don’t think the sole necessarily wears out faster than other thin vulc shoes I’ve skated in the past and the rubber/suede exterior is actually surprisingly durable and kind of makes up for it.
