Odells shows are epic, obviously. But I agree. He's got to quit saying every dude is his favorite skater. Mix it up over there at Vice.

I wish Ellington talked about the time he tried to boardslide the chain between two rails. At the end of dying to live i think.

I hope they talk about his crackhead dance after landing the bigspin over carlsbad
Sorry, sometimes I get overly defensive on that point.

part 2 was awesome, i like the fact he tried to do that kinked boardslide 20 or more times even though he never made it past the second kink.

that was awesome! you know he was hyped after having to go back 7 or 8 times to land that shit.

Personally I LOVE how O'Dell says the same thing about every skater in every episode: "..... has the coolest style. You see them, and it's just so cool. They're my favourite skater ever. Of all time. Their style is just so cool".
[close]

I actually do like how it's always kind of the same, because it just makes him seem like the kid looking up to all of these dudes, which is really what he is.
Erik always seemed like he'd come off like a total dick in all the videos and ads, I totally thought that shit too.  When the Emerica dudes were in Philly a few years ago for the go Skate Day thing, he was BY FAR the most approachable one out of any of them.  Fucking Tosh Townend sat there being non-verbal to all the kids that just asked him stuff while meanwhile Erik is making some kids dreams come true by playing SKATE with him and just sitting there answering everything these kids have to ask.  I told him straight to his face that it's so rad he's humble like he was, and he said back "It's how anyone in my shoes should be, dude."  Dude's sick as fuck, and watching him skate flatground does make you realize why he's pro, it's exactly what O'Dell says.  Can't wait for part 3.
i'm not sure if you're implying that o'dell is a kid,  he's older than most of the people he does shows on save gonz and hosoi.  of course you look up to your friends, though, and i think he's just genuinely excited about them, too.  not that it makes me all tingly or anything.
Whats the big deal with roors? If you have to ask, you'll never know...

Stranger would be sick as fuck but it will never happen (in my mind). Maybe try Cardiel (even though the Phelps episode had some footage)?  Lets see it Pat!

I am guessing Bryan Herman or TK is coming up actually. It is about half Baker guys.  Puleo or Jack Sabback would be cool or any of the Shut guys.  I think it would be cool to do one on a guy who is on a small company and how they make that check stretch each month.  I alway wondered how Billy Rohan gets by.  I know Razo works another job and I assume Todd Jordon makes money from Nike but it still must be tough.

im genuinely a fan of these shows.....but, it would be cool if he branched out a bit from the Baker/NYC/Max Fish crowd...like with the Ray Barbee interview

it's cool that he gets to make "shows" with his friends and all, but it would be cool if the subjects were less predictable

It was really cool to see Erik's little kid footie in episode one; to see him skate little curbs and flat ground. I saw Eric skate a lot in AZ before he was on Zero and knew how diverse his bag of tricks was, but always wondered why so much of his coverage seemed so narrow trickwise. His bag of tricks is definately deeper than a lot of his footie makes it look.

its easier to put out the first episodes with friends who will go out of there way with scheduals and all to have you film with them for a couple days then just calling someone you probably dont know as well and try and do the same thing. now that epicly laterd is growing im sure odell is getting calls by pros hes not familiar with.

Ben Gilley would actually be interesting.  It would be cool to see a skater based out of Alabama.  JT is from Alabama but he left whereas Gilley still lives there and is a big part of the scene.

I can see it now...

O' dell: "Nate Sherwood's a guy who doesnt really care about what anyone else is doing.  He does his own thing and just... has fun!"

(cut to 1998 footage of nate doing pressure flips in some parking lot.)

jeremy klien: "He's kinda all over the place... I mean he freestyle raps and listens to slayer. He's such a crazy fucker! It's just a blast to be around that guy!"
