Fuck, what is the best case scenario for recovering from that? I read on wikipedia that "Contrary to popular belief, the patella (knee cap) is usually not injured in these incidents; rather damage to soft tissues that include nerves and arteries is the primary target", but I'm not sure whether that is better or worse.

Really? wow. Well the impact of a shotgun is massive, especially at that range. The spread on each shot would have probably destroyed his knees. Someone told me he is getting them amputated, but i don't know the truth in that. Shit sucks, apparently he was a good footballer too.
