Title: best roll up form
Post by: nooky on September 16, 2018, 09:30:47 AM
whos got the best form rolling up to a trick?

i think jon dicksons got a cool style, focused and still but not overdone.

also like jamie foy's - i like how he doesn't move his feet around much between tricks.

honorable mention obviously to gilbert crockett - not my cup of tea (too bow legged) but still nice to watch. I even like swan pablos and b3n kadow.

This perplexes the shit out of me. When someone just lands a trick and is suddenly ready for the next one with no more set up it just looks so professional.

Swan has one of the most forced/unnatural looking roll up and style, ben needs more footage, less slow mo face shots and slams

Totally, and I don't mean to dog on the kid either but he's not very good for all the attention he's getting. It's like they want him to be their Austin Stephens but at least that dude had a natural style.

Dylan and Austyn come to mind right away. A lot of really good ones already mentioned too, JJ, Busenitz, Cromer. Antwuan back in the early Deathwish days had a crazy chill approach. Diego has a good one too.

I do like Figgy's stare downs. Looks like he's got real turbulent unresolved issues with whatever rail he's about to hit.

All look like they are trying to set what’s in front of them on fire with their mind.

Tfunk comes in hot. Cyril has that "hsu" like closed fist, Josh Wilson got the arm, (but fuck chase Webb's arm). But always liked huf, Greco, smolik with the pants pull.....also some of those kids from the lurknyc have great roll ups. ...maybe it's spot depending. Wait ing for Bobby de keyser

random thought sparked by this topic(prob already discussed)...When Andrew Reynolds does his board drop with his right hand instead of his left. Always stood out to me.

I always thought Leo Romero and Brian Herman had the most perfect looking form. Facing forward, weight on the front foot, etc.

But my favorite roll-up form is Jeremy Klein's. So fucked up

carroll does this swimming motion w/ his hands that my friend explained meant 'get out the damn way' on a hollywood sidewalk enroute to kickflipping a sign.
that's my favorite one, carroll doing the butterfly stroke.

Marquis Preston too!

...where did that guy go, he was so fuckin good. Also one of those dudes who don't see to crouch down at all to set up for a trick

Well this question does have an answer.  Tom penny 2 step, threw his board down and kf'd a 10 set, then he did the nose slide to fakie.  In sure you all remember that clip and can go ahead and retract any other type of a answer you posted. Your welcome.

It's been talked about in other threads. Basically Mike was ready to turn him pro and all he had to do was film a full part for WTF and he'd get his board. He didn't, piled out, and was kinda just over it. I think he still skates though. It's a damn shame, I loved his half cab flips a lot.

gratuitous roll ups are an opportunity for us to be gay for a skater, straight or queer.

i fell attracted to Heath Kirchart on roll ups alone.

I like how Dee Ostrander casts a magical spell at something before he does a trick on it and then he keeps weaving the magical loom until the trick is over.
