Not a purchase, but a trade. I got talking to a guy in Oslo who’s doing upcycling type stuff and workshops for kids in addition to boardmaking and he invited me to his workshop, I got to design and cut my own board in exchange for a handful of old decks and wheels.
I fucked up a bit when machine sanding the edges so there’s a few boo-boos, but it looks way worse on the pic than in person. This is after a couple coats of varnish, next up is making a design of some sort before coating it with several more layers.
I’m thinking of doing a very simple design with just a runic inscription in Old Norse. I used to study Norse culture and the wood is Scandinavian (ideally it would have been Norwegian, but it’s Danish and/or Finnish), it seems fitting.
The board is 8.4 inches at its widest, 31.5 long and with a 14 inch wheelbase. Fairly mellow concave but with semi-steep kicks. The tail is long but not quite as huge as it might look in the photo.
