Stranger Things x Nike “OG Pack/Independence Day”

I get that they aren't SB, but those are basically the exact same shoes Nike has in their skate line.

I have never understood the love for Nike, let alone the obsession with the brand so many people seem to have.

Okay, I just didn't feel they needed to be in the SB thread since they aren't SB's. They are however very skateable and therefore I thought someone might find them to be of interest.

Edit: The whole Nike SB concept from the beginning seems to be “Non Skate Shoes Good for Skating” so I suppose it is weird to separate the non SB’s from the SB’s but the constructions and distribution are different.

Well the retail price of SB Blazers are significantly cheaper than the retail price of Nike Sportswear Blazers. $85 vs $100. Those Stranger Things Blazers are $120.

i suppose it depends on the model, i know here i could walk into any generic sneaker store and get a set of regular nike blazers for around £44 whereas the sb models are £64. i dont doubt there's certain sb models that are close to in price if not less than normal ones but from what ive seen when looking for shoes sbs have a fair markup.

was it adidas sambas where they released a "skate" version that cost more but had significantly less material and lasted shorter compared to the originals?

Well those generic sneaker stores are selling overstock at a discount price. In my town they sell SB's at Marshall's and they are just as cheap as the other stuff there.

In the UK I don't know any store you could walk in and get a pair of Blazers for £44, maybe 10 years ago. They range from about £70 for a low and £89 for a mid and they barely release any colourways of the lows and tend to be in more specialist sneaker or streetwear stores.

You can walk into sports stores and get cheap tennis shoes or whatever that might look similar, just like you can buy weird budget variations of the SB line.

really? jesus, i know certain outlets like schuh here always have blazers etc for around that mark but if my comment about prices was inaccurate ill take it back.

the random all courts i got off ebay for super cheap came in. definitely a little bulkier or i guess more padded than the CK variant, CK one also seems to have a double ridge on the toecap. sole pattern is the same but the cks seem a little grippier, regular ones have that almost woodgrain pattern on the outsole like blazers. tried a few kickflips real quick and the toecap didnt seem to hinder them as they usually do for flips so thats a plus. all in all if you get em cheap like i did i reckon theyd skate just fine.

Wow brings back memories I skated those when I skated pier 7 back in the mid 90s and they were also my favorite I remember the whole shoe was canvas but the front Ollie kickflip part was leather on mine I think I had tan nikes and a white pair of Polos or tommy hills

I skated some Polo Nike GTS knock offs that I got at Ross when I was in SF. Had the felt on the sole, but dragged my foot on a few hill bombs and that took care of most of it. Didn't really bother me. One of my favourite pairs of shoes I ever skated.

Also when I was living in New Zealand I found these no name GTS knock offs at the equivalent of Wal-Mart for $5.00. Super fun to skate as I've never skated true GTS but always loved them.

I skated a pair of those Reebok NPC in all white also! Had a crest on the side, got them hella cheap at a discount supermarket. They were kinda tippy cause the sole is narrow, but would skate again for sure.

Has anyone skated a pair of regular reebok workout plus? They're pretty much the same as regular workout lows, but with a toe cap like the dgk ones back in the day. They look like they would skate pretty good. I kind of want to try a pair of the white/gum sole colorway.

Sole on the Workout Plus seems a little softer than the OG Workout, but yes both are kinda thick and stiff. My friend just skated a pair though and he got used to them and liked them, and he usually skates vulc. Just depends on how bad you want to skate them. I want to try a pair of the OGs soon.

Hmm. I might try a pair anyway. I've always loved the way those shoes look. I would consider a pair of fila fitness as well.

you have these ones that have the exact same tooling, and have that synthetic leather toebox.

but I like those even better, which are more premium with suede toebox and bounce midsole:

Bounce mid sole sounds amazing. Coworker gave me his old harden 1s, which are definitely skateable. I oscillate wildly between wanting something super tech for the pain, Or just skating in vans because everything else looks wrong

I don’t think this forgotten model that came out in the mid 80’s has ever been retro’d But here is Sean Sheffey skating them.

Nike Terminator (One of the models, alongside the AJ1 that was inspiration for the original Dunk according to the Nike website)

They've definitely retro'd them a bunch of times. I bought a white pair with black toe sometime around 2008 or so. Planned on skating them but never did and ended up just selling them to a homie. They definitely felt skateable though. Sole was fairly soft.

these reebok viennas and adidas handball spezial both look great, would definitively grab a pair for cheap

and sambas too, think i had some in the 90's, or maybe it was just a homie

I am wearing these shoes now. They would be great for skating. Just gotta get the size right which is hard. Easy if your in a shop, sucks ordering online though

I realize I'm posting another mesh soccer shoe that would get shredded in 2 minutes, but the concept of a slip-on cupsole with boost throughout the midsole sounds really good. These things with a more durable material, at least in some spots, would be an amazing skate shoe in my opinion. I'll probably get them for soccer, just cuz.
