exactly. this part is catnip for the over-25 crowd

pretty much. although this kindof skating is creeping back into the younger generation..  if any of you think grant cant do tech shit you are regular..  he just doesnt give a fuck about people's perception of him in that way. and he doesnt want to spend an hour on one ledge or manual trick i have a feeling.. 

shit - remember a couple years ago when transworld gave grant best transition over bob burnquist? they also gave him best video part for his debacle part i believe.. so its not just thrasher - people just want what he's got

i'm not even a fan of those guys skating but if your gonna call your award SOTY then you better actually be prepared to hand it to the best skater of the year not just your favourite. i supose skating is subjective though so maybe people really do feel grant is pushing skateboarding more than anyone else this year.

I think PJ and P-ROD dont belong to that list--- and get over it.. is "THRASHER�S" Skater Of the Year.. remember that!

I think his not giving a shit about getting it is one of the appealing things about having him get it. Same goes for most SOTYs (imho).

Yea man, when I was a kid I liked Lavar McBride over Senn, Shao or Brauch. These days it's the opposite.

By the way didn't Grant have two Thrasher covers back to back, went on Skate Rock Tours, Killed KOTR (does it still count?), had crazy ads ans two parts coming out and another one of these for Thrasher - this all equals to THRASHER Skater Of The Year. It's their opinion, not the general opinion. And as I see people whining about this it just makes me think how fucking strong they made the Thrasher brand over the years.

I don't see why not? I was listing people, who to me at least, had a year of killing it on a skateboard miles ahead of everyone else who hav'nt had SOTY. I think PJ Ladd and P rod fit in as well as anyone else there.
    I understand that its thrashers award that was kinda the point of the post.
