So forgetting all that ugly flatground skating from who cares anyway

What stood out the most was berra reading the rules and saying "may god have mercy on your souls - it's still cool to talk about god right?"

Berra on pretending to be Christian? Berra of Xenu? Berra actually still Christian despite investing in scientology pyramid scheme?

If you see offensive comments, just let it go into one eye and let it out of the other eye, no tears and not sadness or anger.

myself i am beyond the "laughing at berra" stage and already on to the "concerned for berra's mental health" stage

Since batb12 is pretty much dead, here's one of the best games of skate played recently

Griffin vs Giger is gonna be nuts if it ever happens. Decunha is a beast too.

That’s not what I call a feather flip. I always believed that you had to pressure the board like a vertical impossible.
Them catch it switch Casper and bring it all the way back to its original position.

These kids would probably call it canceled impossible or something.

I learned that shit the year or the year after fankie hill killed skateboarding.

There was this older kid named frankie. He moved to Marblehead for like a few years around that time and he fucking ripped. He had deformed calf muscles. He was the first guy I saw irl go over a barrel over a fence and over the high school rail.

I did everything he said to do with skateboarding because he was almost as gnar as Kien Lieu. He even had the white mach 1? Mach 4? Air walks.

He was legitimately Popeye the Mutha!!! (Jerry scream) of all Ollie. Crazy calf muskles.

He taught us
impossibles
ff impossible
big spin
Front three (270 pivs)
Then pressure flip and Casper flip but it was a feather flip not a Casper I found out later.

Some of us got those almost all in one day. I don’t want to make claims. We were all vets on board but was living in a vacuum pretty much.

The last skate trick I learned from him was back three. I couldn’t do it. He made me cry about it one day. I had a Kline Candy Bar so it might have been 90. It was in good condition.

Anyway so the lesson learned.

He told me after I stopped being a lil bitch to
“go to Lincoln Ave hill and do them all the way up the hill over and over. You will get the trick.
So I did that shit every frickin day till I got it.
Then I did it every day for the entire summer. Sometimes multi visits.

You pushing three times and scoop the fuck out of it! Shoulders around follow with the leg Twist and Stomp!
You can’t pivot easily on that hill. You gotta be like way back seat. You would slip out on flat for sure.  When you got it Yo that shit was real af.

He taught me bag lady grinds later on which I was so good at it was stupid. Impossible bag lady at the National Grand curb. Fuckin back 5oh shuv at the Spirit of 76 bookstore curbs.

He was the first person I saw to write a trick on a curb.

I never did that. Graffiti on the curb is a horrendous idea. Unless you got mad curbs. We had like 5. Maybe 6. Marblehead is like 2x4.1 miles in size.

We had bike racks and benches and a few little handrails.

Boston was the way to go tho. Saltonstall Building. Government center had stairs with giant out ledges that took like 5 try’s to grind and you had to be cooking.

Unless you had the plastic gullwing trucks. Nick had those they were wack af. Lol.

I hated slick boards too. Stupid pealing ass shit was cheating. Lol.

This thread isn’t cool enough for my story.

That last trick is nuts.  I respect the difficulty and it wasn't the ugliest thing ever.  Can't imagine seeing it become a common trick ever.

Those red shoes were dusty as hell. Looked like they were sitting in a window somewhere getting sunbleached and grimy.

Im guessing Nick Tucker had a busted front ankle by that fakie flip. No one did any front foot flip tricks besides that.

Regardless, not a very interesting game to watch.

^^ mental he done that then does one of the worst fake flips I've ever seen a few years later. Maybe he was injured as mentioned.

Cheers for sharing that again, gnarly as fuck!

Dude must be the loser he appears to be in everything i've ever seen him in (just had a quick look at his insta which is disgusting on all fronts) to not even be able to get flowed shoes as a veteran pro. So he sponsors himself board wise? Anyone know how he fell from Primitive to skating his shoe from 6 years ago?

This and the last BATB vid are a great reminder that it isn't what you do but how you fucking do it. I'll give credit where credit is due though, that hop king vid had some crazy flatground.

Had to rewind that 360 inward heel. That was a genuine surprise. Definitely didn’t seem like an even match once it started going.

Imagine the amount of even more hate this would get if Berra announced this. Was strategic to have Koston announce this

But im going to guess that they have a majority of recorded battles already since they have a deadline to work around

Deadlines and schedules didn't seem to bother them in the first round so why would they suddenly get their shit together?
