right, (coolness of skating)+(coolness of clothes)=(overall coolness), so if you increase the coolness of the clothes you increase the overall coolness. The thing is it's not really that simple - what makes clothes cool in the first place? What makes certain types of skating cool in the first place? It's the people who wear them and the people who do them. Why does anyone dress the way they do? Because of factors independent to them. Decenzo dressed like Decenzo cuz he is Decenzo. Same with Gillette being Gillete.  All these closed-minded people are actually just clothes-minded people, you just gotta catch up.

One more time….it’s 2022….there is a 56 page thread on loose fitting pants…..Austin has meh sponsors I think because a lot of skaters think he’s…..meh….

On the other hand…theres  a guy who runs a slightly more collegiate fit and he won SOTY….he gets a pretty solid beating here as of late so maybe you just have the wrong audience….

Clothes are a really good example of people having so much access to resource it’s a curse.

I’m still poor but slightly less poor than I was growing up. Everything was hand me down or just whatever fit at the thrift store. Once I started providing for myself I thought sick I’m gunna buy all these nice clothes…

I hate thinking so much about my clothes or having access to so many choices. I’d rather grab some shit at a thrift store or handmade local. Most modern sponsored skaters look like cardboard cutouts. I have a great respect for Tyson pushing thrift store finds over buying whatever new shit at supreme.

All things considered, Ryan has had a good career and made some money. There’s no shame in being on darkstar. pro skating isn’t a viable profession for most skaters.
