I saw the Creature and Santa Cruz guys at a foundation spot last week. All of them were pretty cool, especially Al Partanen. He had a sick mustache and looked like a porn star.

I was at the first stop of the Skate Rock tour.  Theo is the nicest guy ever, Figgy was running around drunk with a video camera, and I shot the shit with Kenny Hoyle for like 10 or 15 minutes. Michael Burnett was really cool, too. I bruised my foot earlier that night and Jake Phelps asked me about it, which surprised me. Most of the rest of those guys were pretty quiet.
And....I was totally right beside you for those skate rock shenanigans. We even ate crepes.

Im pretty sure I saw Silas Baxter Neal at a skatepark once. He was super good, He skated so fast had so much pop and did lots of smiths and feebles and he actually looked like silas baxter neal. Too bad no one in HK where I live has ever heard of him or else someone might have asked.

I used to see Silas pretty regularly in Chicago but I haven't seen him in about a year now. He would do long as fuck stand-up grinds on pool coping and it seemed like he could basically just ride on cement coping like you and I might just ride on flatground...pretty wild. He also is very agile, much more agile than you'd think - I've seen him get out of some hairy situations on his tippy-toes and roll out of some pretty bad slams that would take most of us out. It's weird because I actually got the most "professional athlete" vibe from Silas (I mean that in the sense that you can just tell how talented he is at using his body) even though he's very laid back, drinks beers at the park, brings his dog, etc.

I saw Mike V recently (before his longass tour this summer) and he was killing it and just being really nice to everyone. I was actually surprised at just how much pop he still has. Long front 5-0s on everything and some pretty crazy lip tricks...also was wearing Nikes which I found awesome and surprising given Mike V's outspoken beliefs about keeping skateboarding pure or core or whatever (but those Nikes are great to skate in).

Nine times out of ten I'm just going to keep skating and not really pay much attention if there's a pro around. I might make an exception for the Gonz or something, but I'd almost certainly just make a fool of myself. I'm guessing the guy just wants to skate.

I was at a bar years ago when one of those Dew tours or something was in town. Mike Crum walked up super wasted and was all "I'm Mike Crum" and tried to steal the beer out of my hand. I punched him in the gut and he went on to the next victim.

Demos don't count, but the only time I have ever seen pros in my life was at a black label demo in eindhoven 6-7 years ago. Melcher, Svitak, Rakestraw, Jason Adams, Alfaro and some ams that I've never heard of later.
I'm pretty sure I saw Wieger there too, I remember my friends yelling "hey look, there's wieger" and I was just "who ? never heard of him" and looked away.

partied with the emerica team when i was in gr.12. herman, spanky, ellington, leo, and a bunch of canadian ams or flow or whatever were there all drunk as fuck, it ruled.
me and leo talked black metal i remember, ellington held a shotgunning beer contest
apparently heath stayed at the hotel to "watch tennis" aka jerk off
no reynolds though, even though hes sober it woulda been rad to see him there
they were all the nicest dudes, spanky was explaining ellington to us and hes said "hes just a bit of a broverload sometimes"
[close]

Apparently a girl I know from an English class in University made out with Leo that night and he told her he loved her. Maybe you know this same girl?!

Gailea Momolu told a seventeen year old me to get girls by "letting them know'. Then he yelled "DOLLS! IM THE ONE FOR YOU" at a group of passing girls. This technique has yet to work for me.
hahahaha, yes, i know who you are talking about. it was brianna chapel, or julie somethin right

^Speakin of Gailea Momolu...I saw him about three weeks ago in Vancouver.  Me and some buddies were skating around to different bars in Gastown.  We were pretty drunk and leaving this one club, and Gailea was working the door.  He grabbed my friend's board and started trying nollie heels.  He couldn't do it though.  We hung out with him for about five minutes.  It was weird.

I've had both good and bad experiences with pro skaters like Ronnie Creager buying me a soda for no reason, to repeatedly having colamonico (remember him?) yell at everyone at the skatepark cause he couldnt land his shit.

Mostly good things....the weirdest shit was walking through the block in OC the night of a TWS event and walking right by templeton....i did a double take cause i didnt process it right away and when i turned around he was gone. I've had friends say they've had disappearing templeton encounters also....hmmmm?

Once when I was leaving that albertsons that is kind of on the border of pb and mission beach, away, at the end of the sidewalk I saw a beautiful vision of Steve Olson in his yellow sweatsuit. It was an Indian summer and he had cut it down to shorts and short sleeves.  I tried to see where he was going but he turned the corner and disappeared.

Then awile back at a bondi I saw a bloated, red faced alcoholic with a wild unkempt mane and the facial hair of a pedophile wearing an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt and carrying a six pack at ten am. It was Jake duncombe

Mike Crum's shop used to be in my town, so I'd seem him around. And like two years ago I was at the park on like a Tuesday night and some dude in Converse rolled up and was actually super good. And it turned out it was Berra on the way back from Make-a-Wish. That fat guy Zach guy was with him too.

I think maybe five years ago, I met Chris Pfanner at the WSR in Rotterdam. I was just walking in the parking lot to the entrance, and a couple of older guys were walking to us. I heard this this black dude with an afro says something like:...how bout this guy? He looks pretty cool.... And he gave me his board! I was stoked out. I didn't even know who he was, he was quite unknown back then. Then later at the contest I saw him skate and got to know his name. So he's a cool guy.

It was a Powell board with a a skull holding a sword. It had a crack at the back truck, and when I skated it, it broke in a few hours.
Fantesticle!

Adam Dyet was at the bar I work at. I told him I thought the 540 he did at Maloof was pretty cool. He told me he thought he should have won. I went back to work.

He looked a little aggravated. But this was when Baker 3 was new...like somewhere around Thanksgiving of 05. I met him again in 2008 and that was when Deathwish was just new. Like brand new "just arrived in the shop" type new. It was at Carls Jr. and he had a way better attitude there.

some dumb lil 5 year-old-boy asked lindsey robertson for his autograph at a dc demo like 6 years ago and he was like "why didnt you ask me when i was signing them earlier" and then he just asked for it again and lindsey screamed no and skated away. noone likes lil kids anyways so it was too funny in person.

That's a dick move though. He should have been grateful that someone wanted his autograph, even though the kid probably didn't know who he was.

I was in Southlake walking with my homie back to my house, and we noticed Guru Khalsa and Mikey Taylor skating some big rail. We went and watched, Mikey tried front boarding it and hit his shin and just sat in the car, Guru crooked it and came over and talked with us for a bit, such a nice dude. I think they were taking pictures for a slap i believe.

I also saw J-Rog at my local skatepark, he went out of his way to give me a head nod and say what's up haha.

Cody Mac is around my area a lot and I have met him multiple times, dude is cool as shit, and rips so hard.

I hered young Greco was awesome. One of the older cats in my hometown used to skate with him and I guess he used to brag to everybody that he had a super nintendo in every room of his parents house. If true, thats definitely fucking brag-worthy.
