I had to return my 1010’s bc (to me) they ran small (aka sized like a dunk so take that as you will). Was bummed. I may try the half size up but dang I may just wait for the 808’s! Any idea when those come out?

808's won't be until July (shipping delays notwithstanding) so you should for sure grab like 300 pairs of 1010's now until then...

Besides one pair of 533’s a few years ago I’m new to the world of New Balance skate shoes. I got some 440 highs despite also getting a bunch of Busenitz’s right beforehand. I’m a thin cupsole kind of person and NB seems to have some good looking ones. I went tts in the 440 highs and noticed that they were a little bit big. Is this the general consensus for that shoe? I’d rather have half a size too big than half a size too small. Kickflips feel hit or miss, but every other flip trick feels completely fine

I have a wide foot, but the 440’s fit me perfectly. So I could see how if you have a narrower or a regular width foot they could run slightly big. The 440 lows fit much more snugly.

808 panelling reminds me of skateable 5740's, good looks.

808s looking pretty rad!

Man, I want to like the 440s so bad, but they feel like garbage to me when I try to skate them. The sole feels super hard. It’s a bummer. On my board they feel like the ball of my foot is just above my board, but the outside edges of the shoe are touching. It’s almost like they feel convex when on concave. Am I the only one that has this problem?

Other NBs have fucking ruled to skate, but the 440 does not like me. What am I doing wrong people?

440's are super flexible IMO so I dunno what's up with yours. They feel like a vulc to me almost. If they lasted longer it's all I would skate.

They’re black and white with a black sole. I would typically wear them snug.

I also have a pair with a gum sole that haven’t been worn yet.

Yeah, they’re too thin for my winter cupsole pick. Might as well be a vulc I’m the forefoot. They’re great though.

I pulled the trigger on some 7mm FP insoles for my 440Hi’s. Previously I was recycling the insole from my 1010’s. The FP insoles mitigates most of the issues I had with the sole being too thin.

Please tell me they aren’t phasing out the 1010

808s are a cool second option but the 1010s are classic IMO. They deserve an 533-esque run

Pretty sure it's all but confirmed that the 1010 isn't going anywhere. Tiago haas a new shoe coming in 2022 but they're still going to produce the 1010, it's been very popular.
In one of the links posted a page back, i saw the 1010 is now called "1010 v1" so I'm assuming 1010 v1 and 1010 v2 will both be available sometime next year.

Pretty sure the 808 is a whole new sole. Checked them out in person, and those soles are thick. There’s some decent padding in there, but there is definitely going to be less board feel than the 1010’s

word, thanks for answering. i was curious because i find the all black soled 440s to break in quicker/softer than gum or gum/black. i think our feet are a bit different though, because i wear out in the ball of foot area super quick, so it's definitely touching. wonder if the gum sole will treat you the same
