one more pentax-related tip: the marketplace on that one forum, to which i always refer (i dont want to say it again or people will think i?m a spam-bot haha) is pretty good, usually has a lot of stuff from all over the world. also, theres a "wanted"-forum, for stuff that you.. well, want.

No kidding the girls in my class use auto mode. This one girl was writing about how her picture of a berry in her garden shows depth of field and the teacher was like, 'Well what did you use to get this effect... come on... starts with a...', to which she replied, 'auto? thats all i use lol'
[close]

so dont they even get taught what all the different settings do? how can they call that a photography class????

They have been taught, but to them auto is god

really wanted to try out my new lens, went outside, walked around the block, decided that it was way too cold. quite heavily cropped and focused with my glasses on. which sucks.

Your photos are fucking boring.

^^^What lens are you using? Not sure if you care but the Mark III is coming out sometime this year. It's kind of the big buzz with Canon right now....along with the 1D Mark IV. It should be about the same price range as the Mark II also, but I am sure things are subject to change.

Still, the Mark II is the best full frame for the price right now with the best ISO out there. You be taking some dope pics.

the mark II changed my attitude towards digital cameras. it is a great camera. I'd love to try one one these digital backs for a hasselblad. that must be some kind of digital quality.

Got photography class again this semester so finally I have an excuse to go out and take photos more often, I know I should do it more often but I never seem to find a decent opportunity. Also gonna try out my brother's Mark III while I'm at it, so I hope I have some shit to be stoked about in a while

Those are all with the 28mm f/2.8. I'm about to pick up the 24-70mm f/2.8 later this month.

Yeah, I live in Tempe.  Those were all shot in Tempe or Phoenix in the past week and a half.  The photo of the girl on the bike is at 9th St. and Maple.

If you're not worried about auto focus, get either the 50mm 1.4 ais or the 35mm f/1.4 ais. The only two lenses I really ever use and they're fucking awesome. You won't be disappointed.

But I guess they do make that cheap 35mm f/2 for digis so if you're on a budget, go for that as Snickers posted.

Don't get the 16mm unless your digi is full frame (D700, D3, etc) though. Nikon 10.5 f/2.8 is the one you want.
