He's probably still on.
I'm more concerned with his last name being Tershy and his cousins last names being Tershay ? (assuming that is accurate)
[close]

I've also been curious about that. I think it was joey recently made a post on ig that was like a family photo with Raven and Nick and a few others and he said something about his gratitude for the "tershy/tershay" family.

Raven's son will be named Crow Tersh to continue the letter loss

He’s probably still on, he’s survived the Nike SB team page purge at least. Seems like they’ve excommunicated a new pro from that list every couple of days recently...
At least when you're a washed-out hipster douchebag in NY, you can milk it at some decent looking, hard to skate spots. In LA you're just a tan-lined faggot in a school yard somewhere.

I'm terrible at using the slap search function, but was looking for Markovich on the boards talking about the 88 thing. I think that may have been on the previous board, which I had forgotten about and am horrified to realize how long I've been reading these messageboards.

88 surfboards creeps me out. I see them giving boards as prizes, and all these white-bread smiling HB skater boys into it, and it's a bad vibe. Surfing is really the OG nazi boardsport.

Sorry if its all off track, but somehow speculating about decades-dead, possibly racist sneaker companies, and hearing ok boomers anti-racist skin trivia is way more interesting to me than Raven. He does rip though.

I’m pretty sure tershy/tershay is a shortened version of the original, not sure why joey nick and raven spelled them differently though

I saw a car with a license plate that said RAC1488. There was an Asian dude driving. So not a lot of people know all this punk/skin nerdy shit some of us get in fights about. I know KM is a kook, but I highly doubt he was repping Hitler with that name. 88 looks great on a football jersey. The SS on a Chevelle is cool looking. Not everything is an Easter egg like a license plate in a Pixar movie.

LOL. I actually don't think Markovich knew about it either. Was probably painting some googly eyes when that 88 memo went out. I can't see him being that aware. My wife has a Dez Bryant 88 jersey and I do joke about it though, she does not care. She is also only half honkey anyway. Will not lie though, when I see that $14.88 price on various items in Walmart... I like to say "Walmart is racist af!"
[close]

I agree completely on the Walmart thing. I don’t doubt that that’s intentional.
[close]

You seriously think that a multi-billion dollar corporation like Walmart is trying to sneak secret esoteric Nazi symbolism into their pricing? A company with so many Jewish employees (including multiple board members) that the podunk town where it's headquartered had to build two synagogues in ten years?

I don’t think it was the fucking board of directors obviously, but I could totally buy that some goon down the line - like whoever sent out the “Welcome to Walmart, (n-words)” email the other day - would lean into the 14/88 thing.

It was, and it was manufactured/distributed by Tony Mag/Osiris.

I said a few weeks ago, very few people batted an eye at the name. Some of us punk rocker types that had been fighting with nazis in and around HB for years at punk shows and shit knew exactly what 88 to us, but no one wanted to listen or cared. No way it would even come close to getting off the ground now. I think the story at the time was that 1988 had historical significance in skateboarding. Whatever.

absolutely. do you think rich white christian billionaires are above racism or something? it flys over most consumers heads & can easily be denied by a corporation (no accountabily). so while it can't be proven, to think otherwise is naive. but if you're buying groceries at walmart or whatever you're likely too dumb to notice in the first place lol

Why? Why would they do that? Do they think that putting $14.88 will trigger the Manchurian Candidate, and suddenly whites everywhere will rise up and create an ethnostate. You guys remind me of the kids in my math classes who were scared whenever an equation involved 666.

Jewish people definitely know what 1488 means. If it started appearing *everywhere* at Walmart, that would be cause for concern, but trying to devine secret racist and anti-Semitic symbols in the price of a random item at Walmart is absolute nuttiness.

This is, sadly, easily explainable. RAC is "Rock against Communism" RAC skins that claimed to be trads as well came in all colors and backgrounds and a lot of them gravitated towards Nazi shit. Communist Russia beating the Nationalist Socialist Nazis left some scarring. Shit was always lame.

Anyway, Asian dudes we're almost accepted by Nazis back in the day because of their "model minority" status and the oft-perpetuated myth that Asians (particularly the Japanese) all wanted a world of segregation as well where their culture could remain completely pure.

There was a big Baldies/Anti Racist Action movement up here in MPLS/STP in the late 80's. I hung out with a few baldie dudes, and there were always scuffles going on. We had the biggest racist white supremacist record label here in STP during that time as well - Panzerfaust.  I would watch my buddies pummel nazi turds, was too young and scared so i just popcorn.gif on the sidelines.  Last summer went toe to toe with a fucktard for his wearing a "Confederate Lives Matter" tee in the Aldi parking lot last summer.  He backed down.  Feels good, maaan.

tl;dr Raven's skating has always been zzzzz

Good on ya dude.

Yeah Panzerfaust vs. REsistance Records was always the fight. I think RAHOWA being so big at the time kind of stomped out a lot of the competition.

My punk band, with two middle-eastern dudes, used to practice in the same rehearsal studio as Aggressive Force, noted themselves as an "RAC band" but they were just WP nazis from HB.
ok thanks

Yeah, I know what RAC is. That’s why it was shocking. This was no Asian skin or anything like that though. This guy was a square. Definitely not a Strong Style fan.
