Is this when people start buying from smaller name/shitty brands?
Anyone skate Pig Prime yet?

Absolutely. Bones and Spitfire wheel stock will dry up fast due to stockpiling panic and no restocks, leaving lesser known brands being the only option since they don't sell out as fast.

My local has been stocking a lot of Dogtown and Underground Wheel Co. (no idea who these guys are) wheels since they can't get Spitfire/Bones.

Honestly I'd say this is a nice change in the wheel world, since Bones and Spitfire can't dominate anymore during this time period and smaller brands will become more popular. Maybe we'll find a wheel that can fully compete with STFs/F4s.

Dogtown is poured at Mearthane I believe. I have a set on my kids' board as of a few days ago (they're an older set from two years ago) they feel really nice for a 99a, they have more of a classic spit sound to them but are grippier (they feel like .sml wheels to me, which given where both are poured, makes sense).

I have a set of 58mm spit classics in my freezer so I should be good for a couple years.

the boardy cakes came in today, i have a really good feeling about them. gotta send the tablets back, they looks like they sat too long in a hot room plus they are defective. the super reds were an impulse buy.

what happened to the tablets? Mine were delivered on a hot day that was most likely 100°+ on the delivery truck. Not sure what changed but that night I couldn’t even get bearings in them

as soon as i opened the gift i spotted this odd very small rust colored cut on the riding surface which leads to this odd bump on the flatside and there's weird lines all through the wheel. like something went wrong went they were made and to top it off they must have sit around for a long time because there are something resembling pressure cracks on the inside where the bearings sit.

i got in touch with spitfire on IG but the email they provided me with has yielded no help. i can't skate these and i really want to because i just noticed the riding surface is the same as the worn ass v3s im riding

anyone fucked with Wayward? looking at these

anyone ever tried wayward? I’m thinking about pullin the trigger, but I’ve ridden nothing but spitfire for the past 15 years. worth it?

Waywards are great all terrain wheels, they felt a little slow in smooth parks for me, on transition anyway. Seemed fine for everything else. Have a spit f4 like feel to them, maybe a bit softer/grippier.

5000 set of minilogo wheels were recently sent out to shops around the US and maybe outside the US , not sure how many bones but I think they also recently shipped out lots of sets to shops too.

Those 100's worth getting for city (not smooth) streets?

If price is a concern maybe?

I'd rather get some STF 99a than the 100s as the STFs will be more durable long term.

No one really what the bones 100a formula is compared to Mini logos 90a/95a/101a or STF99a/103b - Bones pushes the 100s as the 'oigional' formula and as a pricepoint wheel.

So more like a classic formula spitfire though? i know those are a bit softer than the 99a/101a F4's, asking if its relative to the bones STF as well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if bones 100s are super similar to Minilogo wheels. Unless the 100s are made in the US

I rode some 100s a while back, they were no where near spit classic feel at all (or the F1 which somehow I feel is what the 'classics' are really using for formula). The 100s were soft and sluggish.

ive had both, they are similar to a classic spitfire only in the sense that its bones' cheaper option, they are lower tech so basically a little slower and less durable than their premium wheels. basically its there if you are satisfied with a "simpler" wheel.

they are def a little softer than the 103a stfs, but the 99a easy streets are a better bet if you are just trying to have a hard wheel that does well on rougher ground.

My friend had a setup with Bones 100s in like 2008. I remember them being soft.

Anybody know what's up with Miles Wheel Co?

I'd imagine they've been delayed due to covid but I don't want to take it to insta like a man.

Great concept though.

People talking about the shortage of F4 got me thinking, how often do you guys change your wheels?
I skate once a week, my wheels are STF and I change them every 12 to 18 months.

Edit: I use 53 or 52 mm wheels

Depends on the wheel size but I usually skate mine for about 6 months before switching them to a backup board

With a set of F4s, I will skate them for up to a year. But if I get new trucks, I feel like I need to have a fresh set and will change them.

I have some new trucks coming but no new wheels and am kinda bugging about it.

I moved up from 52 to 54 like 5 years ago. I try to get some really good wear out of my wheels and will swap them out to try a new wheel or shape. Then go back to them or give them away.

I only usually change wheels when I get new trucks. Since f4s came out my wheels last forever. I’ll probably buy a set of 56mm f4s once a year at most. Supposed to have a pair of 56 conical fulls arriving today excited to see how they look up against my old pair I’ve been running for over a year.

When I get a big old flat spot.  80% of my skating is park/bowl, so I can't stand the badabadabada.    I find that flat spots in F4s and STFs do not roll out well when skating mostly park, so if it's big enough then the wheels get replaced.   On average I'm probably flat spotting 1-2 sets that bad a year.

Got these on sale at the local.
Bought em on a whim. Not getting my hopes up on these wheels at all, but I’ve been looking for a super slick and slidey wheel for a while, and the fact that it says “street formula” on there, it’s 101a, and the fact that DGK makes them and their team is known for super techy skating give me hope.

A) Whenever I feel like it
B) Flatspots
C) For specific terrain (smooth park street, smooth park transtion, smooth street, rough street
D) When they get below 50mm (so I start at 52 so that shit doesn't last long).
