What socks have you guys been rocking?
Personally I've been digging the Vans (tall ones) and Ralph Lauren (tall athletic or tall dress) socks. They seem to fit my size 11.5-12 feet the best and last the longest while looking quality.
I'm so sick of socks that shrink stupid fast and have heels that blow out after a couple of sessions. Toy Machine socks seem to last a long time but they shrink super hard and hardly fit my feet. Way too hard to get them on, especially if I just took a shower.
Stance are nice but unless they are on sale they are way over priced. Also most of their designs are kooky as fuck.
-
I usually try to grab Stance at Ross or Marshall’s because they’re more reasonable. I do like fun socks but, as a wider foot person I tend to use dress socks for shoes that are harder to fit in like Chucks or Janoski.
-
I’ve worn stance since they came out years back, stocked up on heaps of the older “skate” line ones a few years ago when they were $7 on CCS

I used to try get stance socks and some other nicer socks back in the day. They're nice but its just way too expensive and not even that much more durable than most other socks.
I get these now
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008M5S09S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Comfortable and durable, good to skate in, warm but don't get really sweaty. Obviously not thin dressy socks if thats what you're after. Feel about 85% as good as stance socks and you get 6 pairs for the price of a single pair of stances.

Shorts season - these short socks my wife bought me from target with raccoon eyes on the collar.

No poly bs.
If i gpt the cash i go wool hemp blends.
Want to say goodbye to foot odors go this way
-
Def interested in wool blends but I can never find deals for them around me
Adidas athletic crew socks are good compared to others I’ve tried and when they do additional % off sale are like $7 for a 6 pack.
Stance when I find em cheap and solid colors
Uni qlo when I get over there for solid colors cheap
-
Black Nike Dri-Fit. A few pairs of Stance Feel 360.

i go to the Army Barracks. They say that there's a flaw but ive not had an issue.
Also i have score in LA but that was a long long long time ago. Swap meets etc.
Gotta dig
When i do go poly i go Adidas as well but those make my feet smell like Fritos chips
-
I have a pair of stance basketball socks and they are so nice.....normally I run polo socks...I wish I could find the right blend and thickness of a white gym sock. I don't really like too much poly in a sock and I think it insults my intelligence that socks are one size fits all.....there should be at least medium and large....8-12? What the fuck is that...even condoms have magnum....
-

Pretty good. I'd like to think it helps a little with flick, but I'm sure that's just in my head. I really only got them because my feet get sweaty as shit and soaks my socks, these help with that a bit.
-
Toy machines all day.
-
Dickies, timberland, fruit of the Loom and New Balance have good socks at tjmaxx
Vans, stance, Nike socks get fucked up too quick for the price. Sometimes they are almost too thick.
I like having nice new socks 12pk around at all times
-
Like everyone else said, Stance if they're cheap. I also have been running some Columbia socks lately that I'm liking a lot, they are more of like a hiking sock, so a lot thicker. If you've got sweaty feet that's definitely gonna be a no.
-
Some thick white Levi’s ones I got on sale at Marshall’s or Ross. Fuck socks. I work in an office and have to see everyone’s stupid ass socks. I had a bunch for a while and threw them out. Most socks with designs are too thin and make your feet slip and sweat. Only socks I have that aren’t plain are 3 nice pairs. One is the big devil toy machine ones my sister got me. Really good, really thick and comfortable. She got me another couple pairs before but they felt like children’s socks. Too tight and small. So they they just sit in the drawer until my girlfriend asks to wear them because it’s cold. They are way too tight I don’t even understand that shit.
-

If you like thick socks that absorb sweat. Get Kirkland wool socks. They used to be all I had cause I always wore some fancy boots. Cheap and comfortable. Last forever. Wish I had some for this weather.
-
Same champs socks I been rocking since middle school mixed with the occasional walmart pair. ALWAYS high socks, can't do ankle, feels weird and shinners suck more. I have some really nice wool/synthetic socks but that's strictly for getting into ski boots in the winter.
-
Nike elite versatility basketball socks. I like them because they’re not thin, provide cushion and have no slip in the shoe. Only downside is they’re expensive, I have a couple pairs that I only wear for skating.

Great socks, I have tons of these for winter but I don’t really like skating in them because my feet slide around in my shoes.
-
I'm a fan of the Adidas Climatlite socks, tad thicker but don't sweat you out, they are $$$ tho.
On the cheap, these hold up very well and don't feel or sweat like shit for being a non-cotton sock:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HF15P8X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also have a lot of socks (crew, ankle, 1/4) depending on the shoe (high or lo) and the season (shorts or pants) so I don't burn through socks like most people; the more socks you have in rotation the longer they all last.
-
Hi, bringing this back
How thick are Toy Machine socks? How's the blend? Can't remember the last time I saw one in person. Considering trying them cus I bought a set of dickies that I kinda hate... gonna use them for fieldwork.
My favorite socks nowadays for skating and chilling are adidas cushioned in crew and quarter lengths:

GoldToe socks. Most cushioney soft socks you’ll ever buy. A little more pricey but when it comes to socks and underwear you get what you pay for. I bought 18 pair this winter to replace all my old ones that were several years old. I go for the “short crew” which is just slightly shorter than a normal crew. Perfect fit and they don’t slide down over my ankles. I always order black or grey because I own no white clothes and I’m too lazy to do a separate load of laundry just for white socks.

Yooo I love goldtoe socks. I had flamingos

When Sports Authority went out of business, I bought about 50 pairs of socks. All for about $1.50 a pop. All Nike Elite, Hyperelite, and Stance socks. The Elites and Hyperelites are my favorites for sure. So much padding and the perfect thickness. Thick enough to grip your insole, yet thin enough to where it doesn’t feel plastic on your feet. You can usually find uglier color ways at mall spots for like $4
-
I'll wear anything that isn't very expensive or made out of polyester

psockadelic are pretty legit actually as well. Darn Tough makes some good stuff.
If the homie hooks up Stance socks at a major discount I"ll grab those butterblend ones

Darn Tough socks if you want to splurge.
Merino wool and last forever. Got a lifetime warranty in case you do blow them out.

Couldn't agree with you more on their merino wool socks. Nice feel on the ankles too! Darn Tough is worth the money.

I fuck with Bombas, a little pricey but they’re quality and give a pair away for each pair you buy.

For skating nothing but Nike sb socks
-
Since i started wearing Stance i dont know if i could wear anything else

I really like these Uniqlo socks. They don't always have them in store and they're thicker than their usual fare. They're some kind of cotton/acrylic blend with a small amount of polyester, but not enough to make your feet smell. They last a couple years, in my experience, and are pretty cheap. I personally like the stripes at the top--they're understated, but also put out the vibe.
https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men-pile-striped-socks-425934.html?dwvar_425934_color=COL00&cgid=men-socks-regular-socks (https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men-pile-striped-socks-425934.html?dwvar_425934_color=COL00&cgid=men-socks-regular-socks)
Also, yeah, Darn Tough. I've had nothing but good experiences with those. Mentally, I struggle with wearing wool socks when it's hot out, though. I'm told it's fine?
-
I used to only buy Stance but for the last 8 or 9 months it's been Volcom.
https://www.volcom.com/products/full-stone-sock-3pk-2?variant=22911121719354

Stance is the corniest shit out. REI outlet or Sierra Trading Post usually has supportive hiking socks for a good price or I'll go with Muji/Uniqlo for thinner, more classy socks. I'll also buy Rototo or Anonymousism when I can afford it. Got one pair of Kapital socks but I wear them pretty sparingly. If you like solid cotton socks with an athletic feel, Socco socks are made in the USA and are much nicer than what Nike or Adidas does in that department. Realizing I could go on and on about socks...
-
Knee high.
-
Whatever is black, and on the clearance rack at Marshall's. Sometimes I'll find stance socks for like $1 a pair there which is cool, most recently I got 6 pairs of timberland ones for like $3.99.
Also I have a pair of those FP socks with the shin pad made out of their space age foam shit. They're comfortable enough that I usually forget I'm even wearing them until I get a shinner and feel nothing. They definitely work and just look like regular socks, in fact if I'm going to skate in shorts I usually wear those.
-
Stance shrink pretty bad for me and get really tight, but i also have size 12/13 feet
-
I wore whatever Hanes shit at Walmart for years, also when I wore Vans Old Skools, Eras and Half Cabs.
The last few years, I started taking my feet more seriously, after all the ankle and foot damage.
I've got 4 pair of Independent trucks socks that I haven't worn much. Actually pretty nice though
Adidas socks - 50% no show and 50% uh regular
Nike socks - same as above
Under Armour socks - all no show. Wear these for work.
Adidas ones seem a little thin to me and I only wear them with Adidas shoes because that makes sense.
Nike seem better, and yep, wear them with Nikes
Under Armour are probably the most comfy but make my feet sweat like the dickens.
I have a fair bit of shoes I guess, for different occasions.
Adidas:
3MC white: Sorta wear these as work shoes, but they're hella dirty and kinda hurt my feet (vulc)
Busenitz vulc black/white: never wear these, my feet feel terrible when I do. (reason I switched to cupsole)
Lucas white: Wear these as work shoes because they look kinda classy and are comfy
3ST.004 white: skate in these. Comfy on the heels. Awesome shoes.
Nike:
Torch 4: were my work shoes, now are my walking shoes
Vapormax Plus: These are also walking shoes, but currently calling them my "dad shoes", dunno why
Team Classic: will be my next skate shoes when Adidas 3ST.004's die. Comfy!
Vans:
Half cabs: Always have a pair on deck. Only Vans I can wear without ache! (have not tried newer cupsoles)
Also have some Nike flip flops, Timberland hiking boots (for camping and hikes) and Sperry shoes for business meetings and mature things like that.
-
Got 40 pairs of Hanes comin in the mail today, $40 shipped so $1 per pair. Gonna donate all my old worn socks to the homeless shelter
-
Nike dry fit are really nice socks. Was planning on using them when I start skating
-
Athletic socks as they are made for sports, i.e., padded, breathable, and supportive/compressed in the right areas; plus they pull quad duty for skating, biking, hiking, and working out. Fuck those generic tube or crew socks (looking at you Hanes); I fucking hate when socks bunch up or start swimming around.
Skating in during the summer in Austin (miss you House Park <3) I learned my lesson fast; back then I skated the OG Busenitz (it has the mesh tongue for air flow) and paired them with some Adidas no-show socks that had a thin mesh top (that would rest right under the [meshed] tongue) that combo was super fucking breathable.
In cooler weather or if I am wearing hi/mids I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MRZNTSH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Or these (synthetic but they don't fee like it, plus they aren't bulky:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HF15P8X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Right now I'm in these everyday (really nice basic sock and a great height for the Rowans).

For wearing in summer, you should choose socks made of cotton, in which high-quality synthetic materials are added for elasticity. Cotton will let in the air well, not cause allergies, and will not provoke excessive sweating. For winter, you can buy socks made of natural wool. They perfectly warm your feet, it's nice to sleep and walk at home in them. Wool, like other natural materials, is safe for health, although it feels rough, and not everyone likes it. In autumn or spring, it is very convenient to wear socks https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081TQ3L2Y (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081TQ3L2Y) because they are quite dense. And the legs breathe in them.

Years ago I bought the Stance skate socks for no reason other than CCS had them mad cheap, I’ve yet to put a hole in a pair from wearing and I wear a set every day.
Recently for chilling around home I picked up some “Nordic Socks” and they’re bomb ass comfy

Any chance of a bot Union?

Spitfire actually makes some bomb socks if you can find em on discount
Some other good skate companies making alright socks , Baker, Girl/Chocolate, Krooked, Polar

If you want an actual performance sport sock, Swiftwick are really good. Pretty expensive but they last forever.
