Line up is obviously super exciting
However I had never heard about Noah before, and here I thought I was young and cool...
-
i bet bobby does a manual at least twice

Fairly expensive preppy shit. The pants and hats are nice, though.
-
this one is going to be sick
-
bobby top of the list, very exciting
no idea what noah is but after this video Ill be a big fan im sure
-
Potentially video of the year material..
How is Bill strobeck going to retaliate? How anout are they going go the stussy route?
-
Very hyped. Troy Gipson gonna blow up 8)
-
Incredible lineup. I'm guessing it's gonna focus on the younger kids like Quinn, Kyota, Coles, etc.
Noah is way too expensive for me or most people but the owner seems pretty down to give a lot of creative direction to younger kids in the scene which is cool. I hope Mark Custer is being paid decently because his photos are sick and kinda ties up the whole Noah skate aesthetic.
-
That's one hell of a line up! Does anyone know what else the filmer/editor has made?
-

GEEKED
and Bill is dropping something in the future, they've been working on it for a little while now. Smaller video, not a behemoth like Blessed.

Hoping there's a good amount of Hjalte footage.

God Noah is boring. I really wish they'd leave this shit alone.
how can it be boring if they still have to release their first video ?

I guess Whoami was talking about the clothing, not the video. If not IDK.

Noah is great. Totally overpriced, but great. Owner used to design Supreme when Supreme blew up in the 2010s.

Noah is sick, Not really any huge logos, ecologically and morally sound production, really high quality product. You cant preach about the way things are produced in china and not expect to pay more for something produced under fair working conditions.
Im stoked for this video, really versatile lineup and a lot of my current favs

Supreme blew up in the late 90’s.
Maybe you discovered it in 2010.
Anyway this could be a fun video.

Ummmmmm in terms of popularity and pop stars wearing it, number of stores and a billion dollar valuation, the 2010s were much more lucrative than the 90s for Supreme but keep trying to cool guy me on the internet.

Great/ incredible soundtrack, ok filming(although Strobeck at times), great editing, great skating (save for a few illegals).
thoroughly enjoyed that.
BDK, Nick, Hjalte can do no wrong in my eyes.
So many bands i love Echo & The Bunnymen, The Cure, Ultra Vivid Scene, Tears for Fears.
9:18 i thought her bangs formed the word "Fuck"
couple bad pants/ hair styles but to each their own.
-
As someone who is not nearly as tuned in to the industry as I used to be - always thankful when videos put the name of the skater prior to their tricks/part. The 5-0 pop out over the skatestopper was so good.
-
We going to talk about that logo?
-
Noah’s on point when it’s trying to be Supreme for dads or ethical Ralph Lauren. It’s super lame when they are just making expensive Nautica.
Video was dope though.
-
We going to talk about that logo?
noah on nazi imagery confirmed
let's start 100 threads
-
We going to talk about that logo?
What is there to talk about? It's their take on the Templar Cross.
Edit: Unless that shit's been co-opted by right-wing groups, wouldn't surprise me considering how the Gavin McInnes' types of the world pearl clutch over muh Western civilization!
-
What’s gonna happen when the trends change in a few years and people want skinny jeans or ghetto gowns again?
-
The name made me lol, seemed like a kid in New York trying to sound cultured using two basic ass french words.
Noah clothing is not my cup of tea, but god damn if that's not one of the best teams in skateboarding.
-
i liked dude coles's footage the best

There have always been people that dress "normally" and Noah makes fairly normal looking clothing.
The video was rad, Bobby De Keyzer flips his board so fast. I watched this a few hours ago and cant remember his name, but the younger dude with the sick hard flips stood out too. The hard flip over the Allen St. Grasspatch was amazing.
-
Well, there were certainly a lot of logos in that.

Loved Bobby's part. That switch front 180 over that rail to manual and then back 180 off the outledge was cray. Is he on Nike still? I heard Bobby De Keyzer is on Nike from his good pal Evan Hay so it must be true.

Edit: I have to say I find myself preferring these kind of videos over the supreme/converse ones, it's like they implement the creativity and unique styles of their cliques but leave all the pseudo teenage angst, trying to be edgy attitude at the door. Instead, they do it through pure positive energy.
This, the frog videos, 917 and that Micheal Nicholas are definitely a vibe that resonates with me a lot - there's a humbleness about them maybe? I dunno, I guess it's good to have variety of videos either way. I just can't help but think how this highlights how much I cringe Strobeck's forcefully edgy shtick and how he is still doing the exact same type of videos he was 6 years ago - even after the whole industry copied his style, you'd think that in itself would push you onto newer, more creative pastures. That Carlyle paycheque must be worth stagnation.

I completely agree with this. I came away from both this and Untitled by Michael Nicholas feeling like they captured exactly what I wish Strobeck's videos did. I feel like both Jolie Rouge and Untitled capture the element of friendship between those crews way more than just having some slow mo smoking shots as B-Roll. As well as this, I kinda find these videos more impressive because they're not filmed by some 40 year old guy like Strobeck who probably has very little in common with the people who he is filming.
-
Couldn't care less about the clothing company, enjoyed that. Every time I thought "Meh, this dude's style is pretty off" or "This part isn't doing it for me" that dude would do something that was sick in some way. Basically, everybody had at least a few interesting or sick tricks that made me like them more. I'm not a huge fan of the manual out tricks, but Milic's are usually cool because they feel genuine, if that makes sense. Really like Bobby D's part. Hjalte's always good. Lot's of good looking varial-heels throughout.
-
Way too much shitty trendy skateboarding in that video. BDK, Hljate and that hardflip kid ripped of course. Rest was a poor mans Supreme rip off.
-
Maybe the first time I've enjoyed a Mango part.....
It's easy to compare Haltje to AVE...but I kinda think what Bobby is to manuals is what AVE is to ledges.... Power....speed....

The kid with the diamond vest and beret at the end is almost cosplay harlequin/Red Dawn level.
Looks like a compressed Indy logo and plaids without logos are better. Untied laces felt contrived. Still a decent watch although I'm not buying, BDK did some stuff here and there.

Wow, I didn't think that this video would have such a divided response! I personally loved it, I like how it gives off a fun and goofy vibe instead of the overly intense one a lot of skate videos go for these days. I'm also a sucker for 80's new wave/synthpop so that soundtrack just hit so well. Plus any footage from Mango, Bobby, and Haltjie is welcome!
-
As a fan of intentionally mediocre skating? I'm all in. But where's the kyota love? That boul is serious. As for the kits these kids wear, yea it's not for me, but idk if it's supposed to be for me. Same for the hair cuts. But the skating, however trendy or intentionally mediocre, was sick. My real beef with this thing is that it Coulda been like 4 minutes shorter, but whatever.

The name of the video means fuck all in French.
apparently it's (maybe) where the term "jolly roger" (pirate skull and crossbones) came from - from wikipedia: It is sometimes claimed that the term derives from "Joli Rouge" ("Pretty Red") in reference to a red flag used by French privateers. This is sometimes attributed to red blood, symbolizing violent pirates, ready to kill.

I really liked this video.
Team seems tight and organic/cohesive but also really diverse.
Unique skating and spot selection.
Great tunes and editing was excellent.

I agree with this sentiment and think some of you guys are being a bit harsh about this and possibly losing sight of the fact that this is a clothing company first and foremost, NOT a skateboard company.
With that said, any company putting themselves out in the open market is subject to criticism and SLAP is the place to hear the brutal truth on Skater's opinions.
I dig the vibe of the company and the skaters they've chosen to represent them. It speaks to alot of us who view skateboarding more as an art form and not a sport.
Where style takes precedence over hammer drop after hammer drop. That stuff is definitely impressive, but not always inspiring in a way that makes skateboarding look "fun".
From a marketing perspective, it doesn't matter who is the best skateboarder, but what they bring in terms of marketability and aesthetics.
They want to push a certain image and message to appeal to a certain sector of the market and I believe that they do it successfully here.
I don't even necessarily agree with their messaging, but like that they take a stand on what they believe and don't change with the tides..
Not everyone's cup o tea. But it's not supposed to be. In regard to being over priced, that only applies if you don't see the value and or can't afford it. They chose to go high end and compete with Supreme. Good for them.
They must be doing something right if they are still in business 5 years later. I'm rooting for Noah and all the up and comers in this video. Call it mediocre skating if you must, but we all know this video doesn't necessarily show their best skating and be that as it may, each one likely rips on a level most can only dream of.
Exciting to see what the future holds for the Brand and their "skate team".
At least that's my .42 pesos on the matter and fuck me for being extra. But agree or disagree, Noah brings something new, fresh, and unique to skateboarding. For me, THAT is what it's all about.
As you were, gentlemen (and ladies and insert preferred pronoun here)!

PS Jordan Maxham is the biggest loser in skateboarding and hasn't the foggiest clue of what taste is. His clothing wack, bag of tricks wack, sponsors wack, artwork wack, idabble wack, Mountain Dew wack. 50-50 Smith is illegal as all hell but so is Hammax's entire existence.

I've seen footage over the last few years of Griffin Gass wearing Noah clothing somewhat frequently, so that being said - i was kinda bummed to see that he wasn't a part of this line up. I was under the assumption that he was probably getting flowed clothes from someone over there and would have hoped that he would be a part of their team whenever that came to fruition.
The line up for this video was great don't get me wrong, but i was secretly hoping to see some new Gass footy. I can't complain over some new Bobby DeQuasi or Hjalte footy tho, always down for that
