Finally !
-
Wow 50 minutes 🥰
-
50 MINUTES
-
Did not even realize this was coming. Props to Quasi for taking my shitty day and doing a fair bit to turn it around.
-
Wow
-
Man i was not expecting for this to be so good.
-
A new Quasi video is undoubtedly cause for celebration, but from my first impressions it’s a little strange. 20 minute video followed by 30 minutes of random outtakes, and Dick Rizzo’s part is in black and white for some reason.
Still. Holy shit, a new Quasi video.
-
So, so, so good! Damn!
-
Why is the actual sound of skateboarding so quiet?
-
Dick Rizzo only skates banks with 75º or more.
-
Wow! So good!!!
-
loved it throughout. last 30 minutes felt more like a b-side than outtakes
-
WOW it's a full length, i cannot wait to dig into this...I'm expecting good everything but especially soundtrack.
Can BDK continue to dominate as the most consistent music selector of all time?!? (IMO)
-Elliott Smith
-Suicide
-Mac Demarco
-Brian Eno
-Guided by Voices
-John Maus
-The Kinks
-Field Mice
-Ultra vivid scene
-
Wonder if Al Davis had anything for this even if what happened didn't happen...

very left field song choice but i fuck with it

Amazing. Loved Dane Barker, BDK and Rizzo’s parts. Quasi is more Alien Workshop than current Alien Workshop.

Alien Workshop is dead.
-
loved it. the whole team came through. full parts from justin henry, bobby dekeyzer, dane barker and dick rizzo. all the other dudes had footage in a montage. no al davis & no signs of him on the webstore anymore so safe to say he's been dropped. all the extra footage at the end (about 30 mins worth) was great. really enjoy seeing a team that hangs out and skates together. the rowley impression was gold. really hope they release this on vhs. i said it in another thread but justin henry going pro is well fucking deserved. congrats. really good job from everyone involved.
oh yeah, jj's nollie 270 switch back tail, beautiful!!!
-
Too much cool shit in this I wouldn’t know where to begin.
But “You got stuntman tendencies, brotha!” cracked me up.
-
BDK
I'd like it if we still called him DeBobby (if anyone actually ever did)
-
U guys notice how Bob's whole part was filmed with a scratched lens?
-
That was so good. One of the best brands out right now.
The last half of random b-roll reminded me of a DVD bonus montage and I appreciated that.
-
Bobby just destroying the Financial District. That Frontside Half-cab flip to end that line was perfect.
-
That line at ligma was the best! Wow
-
This was amazing. Gotta rewatch to take it all in.
I hate to say it and I know it’s not like you can just go get a new xtreme, but that scratch was brutal.
Funnily I thought how miserable JJ looked post landings and in the b roll someone tells him to smile, haha.
Cheer up Jake.

whoa, when did he skate to field mice??
-
I was excited when I saw the length of this, had me thinking they expanded their team.
there's already a decent list of skaters they've hooked up, seems like a missed opportunity not to introduce or at least hint at any other riders?
Rizzo's part was so good, loved the Mindfield inspired titlecard.
Bob and Gil footage is always a treat
-
was hoping for some Nick Matthews, but outside of that no complaints, wonderful vid. JJ switch back one over that bump to bar was pure skate perfection
-
BDK, the little kid critiquing the bondo process then yelling "fuck LA!", the scooter slam, The Sopranos House, Gilbert's Geoff impressions, and JJ
-
Who shot all this lines in BDKs part? That whole thing was beautiful.
Never really thought of Dick Rizzo as a natural transition skater but he sure skated a lot of it in this part. Probably my favorite part but it's hard to choose. Dug the EE3 B&W vibes too.
-
Bobby D... Jesus H
-
Justin Henry does a varial heelflip that is absolutely perfect
Bobby is untouchable in Toronto
-
Justin's nollie nosegrind in Bahstan was bahnkers
Dane stealing the Foundation board at the end is a legendary move and clip.
Well done all around
-
Is it true that Gilbert can’t read? I heard that rumor once at Cha Cha Lounge but didn’t believe. Now I think it has to be true!
-

My guess is Tomas Morrison (he's also credited). He films a ton of Wade and Morgan's stuff too (good friends with The Bunt guys). And, most of this had to have been filmed during the pandemic, since he dumped a ton of his Toronto footage in his last Quasi part.
-
Wonderful all round. More or less a full length with a great 'extras' section as well.
Dane really impressed me with his part. A lot of tricks I didn't expect, and is one of the more recent parts in memory that had such a vast variety of tricks.
Would've excused Bobby not having anything for this after BOB. Everyone else had enough footage to satisfy me personally. Clearly Jake is on his own time.
Justin's part is an instant classic for mine. He makes flip tricks look real good.
The Foundation 'prank' was hilarious. Look how serious Dakota looks when he throws his board off ;D

A crazy thing about Bobby's part, I think almost all of it was filmed within a 2km radius.

That shit's in Chicago at UIC. Thing is no joke. Corey Glick's popshuvit bs 50 was also crazy
-
BDKs part is fucked, last trick hurts my head
super rad to see dick skate that pipe that freddy showed oski in that video a while ago, it looks insane.
it's so wildly refreshing to see a video and see every trick. no weird shoe shots where you miss the kickflip, no lingering zoom on a 13 year old girl smoking, etc
-
Lol that intro happened in my hometown I recognize the spot, that was pretty funny. Loved the whole video, but especially the bob section.
-
love seeing 99% toronto spots in BDK part. would be cool to see some clips of him at PCI.
-
lol @ the lurking on foundation.

I love Quasi.
I am not cool enough for Quasi.
But Gilby has a really tasteful nose manny game.
-
Loved it, every part impressed!
-
Such a good video, Quasi has a pretty damn cool squad. I liked the fact that the B-roll or what have you was released right away in the same package.
What are the songs in Dane's part?
-
haven't watched the stuff after the actual video. it was pretty good, but not mindblowing. i liked the music in gilberts and justin henry's parts a lot. standout for me was dick rizzo. dude has his own way of approaching spots and it always looks so cool. overall solid, will rewatch a few times for sure.
-
A factoid about Dick Rizzo’s part: Of the 35 individual clips in it, only 2 did not feature a bank/transition of some sort: the Smith grind down the hubba, and the ride-on 5-0.
-

As a fellow bank guy trying to get some in the streets, this inspires me.
-
how about jake johnson’s switch nosegrind though
-
I was really excited to watch this, especially when I saw it was nearly an hour long. I was not disappointed. The dudes killed it yet again.
Rizzo skated the Fred Gall abandoned full pipe spot. Very shalom

if ur talking about his first trick its into a bank which i think satisfies your 'bank/ transition of some sort' criteria
-
Riding a Quasi deck and stoked on a Quasi video. Well done gents!
-
Justin's part is an instant classic. the song, the tricks, spots, fits.. all of it.
midwest represent!
Josh Wilson's new shit was really sick as well.
also, how refreshing is it to not have hardly any west coast spots in a video?
-
My dumbass: “Holy shit, a 50 minute video?”
Still my dumbass: “Holy shit, Justin about to drop a 35 minute part?!?!”
Good video, the pranks on foundation were funnier than they should’ve been.
Edit: Also worth mentioning - with Gilbert and BKD wearing stuff closer to their waist size, this video now has the best pants since krook3d, and it’s some of the best skating in jackets since Baker 3.

What? He was saying only two did not meet the criteria...
Rizzo's part gave me Puleo vibes.
-
Josh Wilson has been on a fucking tear ever since getting flow/AM on Quasi a few years ago. Shoutout to him for not letting off the gas.
Also shoutout to Quasi for making middle america skate spots look so good

Gotta do it with the red jacket!!
-
DAmn i think i like skate videos again check back after initial shock though
-
Bobby De Quasi is just incredible.
-
Everything was sick as i expected. Loved Dane's second song as well as Justin's.
Never in a million years could you have predicted a F prank and Soprano driveway spot!
I'll be watching this a bunch/ continuing to buy Quasi.

quasi makes everyone else look stupid. this is top notch, and should be remembered.
-
I don't know what it is about Quasi, but this video made me feel so nostalgic. When I saw it was 50 minutes and than realized there was 30 minutes of bonus footage I just got stoked.
It was so sick to see Dane Barker and others just destroy Richmond spots too. Easily one of the best feel good skate videos I've seen in a long time
-

This. Every filmmaker/company trying to bite Supreme should take notes. Can´t believe it´s been two years since the Mother video which was very dope as well.

Very worthy praise to be made. When people look back embarrassed of stupid filming trends, this video will age like fine wine.
-
Finally finished it, and what a fantastic video. Has a really classic feel similar to something like Jump off a Building, in that the first half or so is the actual video with parts and everything, and the second half shows what the team is like in between getting clips. Dane Barker is great, Bobby DeKeyser is great, Dick Rizzo is great, Justin Henry is super great, everyone else in the video is great. JJ and Gil footage is always a welcome treat. The good natured pranking on Foundation was such a perfect way to close it out. Quasi really doing it right and casually firing on all cylinders these days.
-
The bonus section was has good as the actual video. It had a Dime feel to it. Just homies skating around and all.
-
I absolutely loved mother but this just didn’t hold my attention. Don’t get me wrong some amazing stuff (loved bobby, Bledsoe’s sections, lots of Justin Henry’s, rizzo’s switch 50-50 fakie pop out against the wall), but the editing or something must’ve just lulled me a bit.
Also am i missing something or was that an 8 stair overcrook in a part from a newly minted pro in 2021 in the middle of Justin Henry’s part?
-
this is top notch, and should be remembered.
also: BDK is pulling away from the rest of my pack of best music selection picks
also also: i was a fan of prep-Wilson, but beardo/weirdo-Wilson is just as great
also also also: i woulda preferred Gilby put his recent Hunt Vans footage into this vid (and just let Berle have a Vans solo part)
-
Rizzo's part gave me Puleo vibes.
I was trying not to say it because I didn't wanna summon bibblejuice and have him start some dumb beef with Dick Rizzo but definitely yes.
-
damn bdk part hit them vibes just right

The “vibes” is that he skated a few spots that only Bobby has really hit. BP is probably seething.
I really liked Bledsoe’s footage.

Agreed on the Gilbert aspect, but his Vans pro-shoe is probably what pays the rent.
-
Cool change up of how to present a skate video with all that b-roll at the end. Kind of cutting out the middle man that is Thrasher, sucking the life out of b-roll with the never ending run of B-Sides that still releases months after the actual video.
Obviously outstanding skating overall. It's baffling to me how everyone skates and yet Jake Johnson somehow floats.
I hope they do address the Al stuff now the video is out though, the line up reallyyy doesn't miss his presence at all tbh, but an acknowledgement separating them would be cool.
-
Man I watched it again. What a great video. Might be a weird take but as someone who tends to be a loner this made me want to try harder with some of the friends I have.
-
It's quite easy to watch the full 50 mins.

“Is that real wax?”
Is that referencing the dudes tattoos?
-
Bledsoe is so damn captivating in all his footage - plus that contest footage in the B-Roll is so fucked. Wilson was a highlight too. and Rizzos part is refreshing snd satisfying with its presentation/song/tricks. really liked Henry's two wheel tricks.
-
can someone tell me what was going on with that smudge/lens glare on Bobby's part?

I fucking loved Bledsoe’s section because
A. I have a lot of nostalgia from some of his older parts
B. I have been to a lot of his Oregon/Portland spots and some of those tricks are fucked if you’ve seen the ground/spots in person
He’s just in Portland doing his thing and I think its great

Solid full length video. Love the addition of the extras. Dane’s part is my favorite, super well rounded. As others have said I liked Rizzo’s excess of steep bank spots, that was sick. Justin Henry is dope. I also really enjoyed all the footage from people who didn’t have full parts.
Bobby is basically the plaza goat of the age at this point along with the other Bobby plaza goat. You know that Bobby guy on Krooked? Too bad they don’t have any shared sponsors so they could share a Bobby plaza goat part one day.
Anyways this was sick. Whole soundtrack is bangin. Gonna watch many more times I’m sure

I would say keeping it a tight crew is exactly why the team has such a real and genuine feel, there's not an exact number to what's too many riders, but when it is exceeded it just doesn't feel right anymore, feel me?
-
Better than mother
-
After watching it again I retract my previous complaints. Rizzo might skate a lot of banks but he’s got a fast, original style and unpredictable trick selection, which is always entertaining. And Henry’s part may not be as hammer-centric as his Mother part, but still full of them, and the way he catches certain tricks looks like straight up magic. The flow and soundtrack are pretty perfect too.

Haven't had the time to watch it yet (really looking forward to it!), but following slap protocol is too important not to comment on
I'd like it if we still called him DeBobby (if anyone actually ever did)
This is the proper name! When DeBobby started to shine so bright that he deserved to be talked about using only his first name, DeBobby was decided upon as his first name. Bobby already has two of the most important skaters fighting over the rights to be the real Bobby (worrest/puleo), and we can't have another one entering the cage.
Please fall in line and refer to him as DeBobby from now on.
(I shall return to the comments once I have seen the video)
-
Cheers @figureitout
edit : if other people have short memory, here is an itw with chad bowers from when mother started

Scratched lens was raw and unique to BDK's part. Hard to get Xtreme's now as others have pointed out. I like the attitude of just running it.
I thought it was cool that Justin had first part in Mother, and last part in this video. Nice little arc there. Dying to get my hands on that board!
Like others have said, I thoroughly enjoyed the bonus clips as well. It gave insight to the crew in a genuine way.

Everything after the first twenty minutes or so, following the opening credits, feels like a fever dream. I think it was cool of them to do the traditional part style in the beginning, and then do the rest of the video a lot more fluidly, with clips of skating interspliced with other footage.
-
Was a good watch overall. Seems like a group of people that truly enjoy being around each other. Trips look like a good time. Was it mostly filmed around the mid-west?
DeBobby owns TD Towers at this point as far as I’m concerned. Last trick was fucked. Watched his part a couple times already.
Liked everyone’s footage. It all mixed well and had variety.
Cutting sandwiches with a chop saw made me laugh.

I just rewatched it for the third time after a couple beers and some live resin carts, but holy shit.

Two definitives though. Everyone fucking killed it, but Wukeeper went in and Dane will be the next pro. Chef's kiss!

Amazing video.. but damn can we start a go fund me for whoever filmed Bobby's part with that fucked up lens?? Feeling hurt. All that B-Roll made up for it in the end, bust crew for life. Dudes deserve Smithsonian / MoMA level funding tho, especially whatever the fucks going on in Toronto

Bobby is basically the plaza goat of the age at this point along with the other Bobby plaza goat. You know that Bobby guy on Krooked? Too bad they don’t have any shared sponsors so they could share a Bobby plaza goat part one day.
im all in for a Looks OK to Me 2 where they introduce a young kid (BDK) to mix things up between the two hardened veterans (Worrest and Hjalte)
it's not such a pipedream:

I guess in the moment I forgot about Ben Chadourne being the great equalizer that brings a lot of these guys into one crew from different parts of the world. A Double Bobby part sounds a lot less unlikely now

My biggest take away was that Justin Henry needs to ask him mom if it's okay to untuck his shirt now, god damn.

Can't believe we got this far without his kits being mentioned (or Gilbert's pants, per tradition).
I'll admit that I don't totally understand the style, but he pulls it off. Digging that classic Benz, as well.

Wouldn't want to see everyone doing it, but I agree that he definitely pulls it off.
Saw some dudes on Twitter hating the song choice for his part... I thought it was great. It's Justin's timeeee.

The 'Time' song was amazing.
Physical copies coming soon apparently. Hope it's a DVD and not a VHS like they've done in the past.

agreed but john’s vid was last year. sorry to nitpick
dakota servold intro made me laugh so fucking hard

Great video. Quasi never disappoints. Love it all. Always love seeing Josh wilson tho. Seeing him in DCs was odd but it be a great pickup.

This video proves Quasi absolutely cannot do anything wrong except for not making any 9" boards.

I'm stoked to have a clip in this.. (I died doing a 5050 into a crusty bank)

I grew up waiting years for a new video, Grand Prairie is my video this year that i'm burning out on VHS from watching it 1000 times.

Watched it again last night. Bobby's part hits you so hard and leaves you in shock and Justin brings it all home in style
Full length of the year so far

videos are still available on their site, and the video looks amazing on an older crt tv. judging by the insert, they put a lot of work into making it look just right on tape and it shows.

can someone tell me what was going on with that smudge/lens glare on Bobby's part?
think of it as the bug on the lens in that kalis line in mindfield

Couldn't find the Almost Heaven thread.
But thought it was the cool they put out the tour video on VHS. Didn't pull the trigger myself, but reminds me of getting a tour VHS when I was younger as they were generally cheaper than full lengths.

what's most interesting to me is that grand prairie was released on vhs but remained on their site for sale up until today when it finally sold out. i wonder why it didn't sell out as quickly as almost heaven, or how many copies were even made. almost heaven was limited to 50.

Grand Prairie VHS was in edition of 350.

I don't think it's that interesting. Trying to move 350 units at $60 a pop of a VHS in 2021, seems a hard task, The fact that it sold out at all is an achievement. Roll Up VHS has been on sale since 2019, and still hasn't sold out

ah yeah, true. even though it was a full-length, i was expecting the run to be smaller like mother and bob. i wasn't aware that they only made 350.

Am I an asshole for wanting a dvd? Like i havent seen my vhs player in so long i dont even know if i still have one

No. Releasing a video on VHS in 2021 is antiquated as fuck and dumb as hell. How many people are even watching this in a VHS player? Maybe two people tops.

with the thrifting and resale explosion over the last few years VCR/VHS prices & demand are higher than they've been since it was cutting edge technology, especially in niche genres where many of the classics originally released on VHS.
doesn't seem too crazy a strategy in light of that?
-
I think VHS's are a neat collectable but it's something I'm particularly interested in.
Would buy Quasi DVDs in a heartbeat.

Don't think it's a strategy. Probably just helps that their TM is a huge VHS nerd, and makes them all by hand. Anyways, I think it's cool. The last few DVD's I have purchased just look terrible on my TV. Motion blur around the skater as they are moving.

Just watched "Grand Prairie" again in full last night with a non-skateboarder friend.
He absolutely loved the video...and I was explaining to him how most skate videos back in the day would essentially be 25 to 30 minutes of skateboarding and a half an hour of bonus footage. And that most skate videos were around $30 to $35 in the early 2000's.
He was like: "dang that's expensive, you must have watched the same tapes over and over again."
And of course he was right. I watched Sight Unseen, 411VM #41, and Flip Sorry---pretty much everyday after school.
Moral of the story: Watching Grand Prairie gives me so much nostalgia for skating with my friends in high school, this video might be in my top 10 of greatest skate videos of all time--the Quasi dudes just got everything completely right with this one.
