The Jersey Shore is probably the worst place to live for a person who has substance abuse issues. In the summer it’s a non-stop party and the other 8 months it’s vacant and depressing. I’d like to have a house closer to the shore but I’d be worried about my kids falling into a bad lifestyle.

Real shit right here, I grew up in the area and the number of used-to-skate guys i know who ended up dead or locked up is pretty outrageous. pretty much the only ones doing better now either left, got scared straight by time in prison, or got on a serious 12-step/rehab kick

I got them from Mr Bling on Fillmore Street in SF. The day we went there we helped him out with something important and we became good friends with him. He showed us a bunch of Asian spots in SF and Oakland (where his brothers store was). on our last day we got him a Australia T-shirt and we wrote our thank yous on it. He put it up in the store next to photos of E-40, Mac Mall and heaps of other Bay rappers. Mr Bling was the nicest dude ever. If he’s still there look for the Aussie tee on the wall.
So they aren’t Rolo wrappers no. They are 20 year old fronts that I still have to this day. He does awesome fronts.

I really, really hope that this situation is the catalyst for getting his shit together. Taking the time to learn terms like 'nollie backside' is actually really sweet of her, caring enough to learn terms about your passion :) Only a couple exes of mine ever took an interest in skateboarding, and it was a very base-level. That was especially odd since I roll w/ the Fancy Lad bois and am in some of their videos... definitely some of the more 'non-skater-friendly' videos being made nowadays IMHO. Tough cookies to crumble, those girls!

That's great to hear about Pops. My friend lived in NYC for a while and ~10 (maybe closer to 8 or 7 idk) years ago he saw Pops in line before him at a bank tryna withdraw some $ and the teller was like 'sorry but your account is overdrawn' or some shit like that. Converse did him dirty! So, yeah, it's great to see that guy thriving.
Bummer that we probably won't see many more clips of him ever again, though. I still have a odd feeling a lot of his self-shot IG photos of him skating over the years were 'posed'... maybe it was all an elaborate joke, haha

$200k is most likely a stretch as a carpenter unless he’s somehow working 7 days a week without ever taking a day off, or a construction coordinator with a lot of rental equipment. People walk in off the streets without a formal education and receive on the job training often enough. It’s very much a personal connections-based industry. My source is that I’m in the same union

HAHAHA side note it would not be hard to earn 200k as a union carpenter in NYC. A lot of those jobs compensate based on a geographical rate or prevailing wage or some shit like that, a journeyman can easily make $60 to $100 per hour. And that is based on what I know with my brother being a union carpenter in Philly. NYC is an entirely different animal. If he is reliable and skilled, showing face at the union hall could keep him aware of upcoming jobs which can set him up to have little or no downtime between the assignments.
Good for him I hope he is doing well. Those lil benches were pretty cool and honestly something hand made by someone with name recognition that is relatively easy to ship, I always thought that was a smart business plan.
