I completely agree with this, but If nine club are happy to chat multiple times with internetters like && then I think it'd be fraternal to at least have a chat with Aaron on the xp or Green room or give Aaron opportunity to report back. As I say I think they are all alright people so there's no reason to kick off over it. Doubt that will happen though.

I had a slap account wayy before Facebook was even a thing. this forum doesn’t have the same kind of effect social media does on the brain. I’m also in a jdm forum for like 20 years and people mostly talk about cars I think forums are awesome

I was actually trying to remember after I mentioned it but I have no idea right now. I know it was an Experience show way before that went weekly and maybe even one of the early ones right after it stopped being a Patreon exclusive. I like Rad Rat but he is reaching for content pretty hard here.
His video is called "Does Chris Haslam CHEAT at laser flips" and not "Here's how Chris Haslam does laser flips" so if you're gonna clickbait and use aggro-ish/negg words like "cheat" for views (which is fine and RR knows this), expect the same level of aggro-ish/negging when it comes back around.
And even if you came to the conclusion that he didn't "cheat" and use this as a gotcha, you got some nerves assuming Chris Haslam watched the whole thing and is still acting in bad faith calling you out on a popular podcast. If you click bait and defuse the bait at the end of a video that's the kind of thing that can happen. Haslam probably skimmed through, had a good laugh and moved on.
Nothing that happens on the 9 Club is worth beefing over, and Rad Rat's name didn't even come up during the interview anyway, he had to wave his own flag to let people know who they were talking about lol.

I like both Kelly and Rad Rat. They are both super wholesome. Kelly has a very "jock from an early 00's american high school movie" type of appearance though. So if I didn't know who he was and just saw a picture of him, I would probably think he was the opposite of wholesome.

In case you haven't watched the videos, Kelly has no idea who Haslam is talking about. He isn't targeting Rad Rat specifically.
Basically it goes like this.
1. Rad Rat makes video with clickbait title about Haslam cheating on a trick even though he doesn't actually think it's cheating.
2. Haslam goes on 9 Club and says "Some kids say I'm cheating and it's called a kiwi flip. I don't know what a kiwi flip is and IDGAF." does NOT name rad rat.
3. Kelly calls them fucking dorks, whoever they are in general.
4. Rad Rat makes a video response about being called a fucking dork by Kelly.
Whether Kelly is a jock or not, I highly doubt he would call someone specifically a fucking dork on 9 club, the nicest and friendliest skateboarding show out there. He just threw this out not knowing who it was. I really can't picture Kelly Hart going "This Rad Rat kid is a fucking dork" in the context of the nine club. It's Rad Rat who went "HEY GUYS HE'S TALKING ABOUT ME" after the fact. If he didn't do a video response there wouldn't be a 4 page thread about this on here.

The best I could pull up is that he is some freestyle asphalt driveway lord. I get the appeal if you're in that type of shit and are socially awkward + residing in similar part of the earth; it's one of the reasons I love skateboarding as every version of it is out there for someone. Although I don't get the appeal to the talking at the camera YouTube skaters, I can understand how people get into it due to a lack of critical thinking and default addiction to technology/ring lights.

Sorry if I'm repeating anyone.
Basically it goes like this.
1. Rad Rat makes video with clickbait title about Haslam cheating on a trick even though he doesn't actually think it's cheating.
2. Haslam goes on 9 Club and says "Some kids say I'm cheating and it's called a kiwi flip. I don't know what a kiwi flip is and IDGAF." does NOT name rad rat.
3. Kelly calls them fucking dorks, whoever they are in general.
4. Rad Rat makes a video response about being called a fucking dork by Kelly.
Whether Kelly is a jock or not, I highly doubt he would call someone specifically a fucking dork on 9 club, the nicest and friendliest skateboarding show out there. He just threw this out not knowing who it was. I really can't picture Kelly Hart going "This Rad Rat kid is a fucking dork" in the context of the nine club. It's Rad Rat who went "HEY GUYS HE'S TALKING ABOUT ME" after the fact. If he didn't do a video response there wouldn't be a 4 page thread about this on here.
I didn't watch the KH thing. I made an ass of myself assumin he directly called RR a dork. I should have know better. I'm out here lookin like Rudy Guliani now.
Still seems out of character for Kelly and the show in general.

You obviously only read the title and didn't watch the video but anyways, he has a point; if the flip is actually happening from the back foot then is it technically the same trick? Now personally, I see what Haslam and Ishod are doing as both being legit lazer flips but it's an interesting point to bring up at the least. Yes, the title is clickbait.

Rad Rat's skate expertise seems 100% based on solo Internet research. I appreciate that he digs in, but his perspective is extremely limited because there's no experience to back up the knowledge. He also seems to mainly skate flatground by himself in his driveway. Get out there, Rad Rat!

I have gotten this impression myself from him. It's cool because he typically has a fresh perspective compared to most other skaters but he sometimes comes off like he isn't immersed in the same skate culture that I am. That's not a bad thing but I'll watch some videos he has and at the end wonder to myself "how did he reach that conclusion?"

I've been familiar with Aron/Rad Rat since way before he started his podcast thing, back in the early naughts he was all over the place on skate message boards. IIRC he literally grew up in a farm in the middle of nowhere in complete disconnection with everything. Which is something I really respect because that's the majority of skateboarders (whether or not some of them will admit it) and while he may be off on some stuff, he's at least trying to put everything together and doing a decent job at skate vulgarization if I may call it that, when it could be way more dishonest people filling in that niche. He helped me learn crooked grinds 15 years ago and got me a wheel hook-up around that time too, just because he could. Genuine dude who used to do kickflip late shove-its out of primo on the only small patch of concrete he had to skate. Maybe he should have traveled more, but I can also understand isolation. Haven't talked to him in over a decade, which kind of sucks.

It's all pretty silly, and it's why I don't really care who wins contests

I love watching contests after they've been uploaded to youtube and I can skip to the tricks, never been to one in person in the past 20 years
the nollie shove feeble was just a trick I'd never seen that could potentially be really hard. I'm just trying to say that judging skate tricks isn't nearly as straightforward as other judged competitions, so I don't put much stock in the podium placings
I wish they would just get rid of the run section in street league. wasn't the first street league just a stairset, a ledge and a bump to rail with no ramps so everyone had to run and throw down to get speed for anything? THAT was street league

Even though 7 years ago Chris Cole did it better, down a bigger rail and scored a 9.3 in an old SLS contest. Then Nyjah got an 8.9 for a cab flip back lip.
