Anybody know what sparked this?

They did the same shit last year.
-
It's an assumingly decommissioned police car/car dressed up like a police car that FA has people skate at their event, then set on fire at the end of the event. They did it last year too and I guess it's starting to become tradition.

How edgy
-
Endangering both police and the type of ppl. that would attend an FA skate jam is a win-win.
-
The article is geoblocked for me, but I have to say that while fire is legitimately a bad idea for everyone's safety it is highly entertaining to watch if you are stupid drunk (ring of fire seems to be one of the absurd traditions at cph pro, and it always draws a crowd)

Heckride af

Tbh that one’s on whoever gave them the permit to do the same shit they did last year in the same parking lot

Probably a lighter, probably not a match. Maybe one of those bbq lighters so they don’t burn their widdo fingies.

socal's burning man.
tricks over the car long ways were impressive.
the optics of a tagged up fire department vehicle in the news article video ain't a good look. if there's one thing the people of california respect and love, fire fighters are likely at the top of the list.
dylan jaeb and grant taylor's collision is a contender for slam of the year. 0:45 in the video posted at https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=127767.0
edit: fixed a typo

Does anyone not fuck with firefighters?

i wish there was some kind of blowout over the dylan jaeb/grant taylor collision, obviously GT is too chill for that but it would have been warranted and made for an entertaining spectacle. dylan blew it, so fucking wack

Why? There was no malice and as far as I know, no one was injured.
-
it's a well known traffic law that GT always has the right of way in the sky
-
100 page thread on a skater that “barely” skates, Chloe Sevigny signing, motorcycle jumping a cop car that’s set on fire. FA seems to be doing well these days.

FA fans apparently
-
I heard a story (it may have even been here on SLAP) about a Leftover Crack concert, they started going on a "fuck the government rant" that went something like:
Fuck the government!
Crowd: yeah!
Fuck the NYPD!
Crowd: Yeah!!
Fuck the fire department!
Crowd: *confused grunts*

Ever since Dill slipped on those stairs he’s been trying to manufacture chaos since
-
Baker did it first
-
My favorite part was when the cop running security tried to remove Dill from the inside of the barriers before the motorcycle portion, thinking he was just some random dude in a pink shirt sipping Perrier.

My friend invited me and I thought, why not? It should be a people watching spectacle and hopefully at least one Hockey rider will be skating. Impressions...
- About an hour was wasted on telling the crowd to step back, get off obstacles, etc. Event management was half-assed at best.
- The DJ was terrible, along with his entourage on the stage, who all looked like strip club patrons/employees.
- One idiot was filming the best trick contest with his laptop.
- Dill is looking like an uncooked hot dog or an extra from Robert Altman's Popeye (1980).
- GT is above it all, man. Too good.
- Big John and Diego Todd were impressive and fun to watch. Diego Todd lookin' like he came straight from Full Metal Jacket boot camp.
- Berle is prison jacked and such a varsity quarterback-looking Chad. He's giving wrestling villain/heel in his usual wife beater getup and now I'm a full converted fan. What can I say? I'm a masochist and I want to kiss his bloody fists while he beats me to a pulp. His impossible crook was the best thing I witnessed pre-long jump. Halfcab crook 180 out was sick too.
- Cody Chapman was on fire.
- Not a Karen fan exactly, but man does he look like he was born doing this shit. Amazing style. He came up short during the long jump though.
- Unfortunately, Jake didn't land anything, which surprised me. He was trying a fs shuv (no grab) on the long jump.
- Louie was in shorts and still carrying FA on his back. He made a long jump pop shuv tail grab, along with an earlier odd looking one-foot the short way.
- FA really is corny, but I appreciate them putting on such a shit show event.
- Too many unknown goofballs dropping in more often than pros, not landing anything, and clogging up the flow. The audacity of some of these kooks and their time wasting was impressive; trying to ollie the "cop" car going slow as fuck and eating shit... then repeating the process multiple times.
- The revving motorcycle spectacle was super lame. That was my cue to leave.
- KB was in attendance and saw his shadow, so I guess he's not skating for another year.

All the things people make fun of him for only make me like him more.

truly the goat, he's been killing every demo he goes to for the past 10 years

Lately I keep getting him mixed up with the villain from the movie "Sin City"
-
I love Dill but my god can we get some original shit in skating already.

I can see that, but Dill gives me more Quark from Star Trek Deep Space 9 vibes

I like where you guys are coming from with those comparisons. If we can AI-merge the Yellow Bastard with Quark and Wimpy here, then we'd for sure have a Dill clone:

Looked like a different guy to me. Original guy was always at NY events
